We finally made it to Los Cabos Mexican Bar and Grill, tucked into the strip mall near the Kroger off the Mount Zion exit in Florence—and we’re glad we did. This small, family-owned Mexican restaurant opened about 18–24 months ago, and after talking about it forever, we chose a rainy Thursday night to give it a try.
The restaurant itself is cozy with traditional Mexican décor, very clean, and staffed by friendly, welcoming people. It wasn’t busy at all on a Thursday night, so we were seated immediately. The bar selection was solid, and we each ordered the house margarita—very tasty, not overly sweet, with a good pour and fun little drink garnishes.
We started with chips and salsa, then moved on to our meals. I ordered the chimichanga combo with shredded beef, which included a taco, a chili relleno, a chimichanga, and rice. Everything came out quickly and tasted fresh. I hadn’t had a chimichanga in a long time, and this one was more meat-only on the inside—I think I personally prefer a more burrito-style filling, but that was on me for ordering. Still very good. I do tend to prefer pork over beef, but that wasn’t an option for this dish.
My husband had the chorizo enchiladas with beans and rice. He really enjoyed it, though his one note was that if you don’t absolutely love chorizo, this might not be the dish for you—it’s definitely chorizo-forward. The beans were flavorful and well seasoned, and the rice was excellent (and as a rice lover, that matters to me).
You can truly tell this is a locally owned, family-run restaurant, and we love supporting places like this. If you live in the Walton, Union, or Florence area, I highly recommend checking it out. We’ll definitely be back.

I’ve had carnitas and a pastor torta. Both were really good. Food is fresh and taste great. Portions were generous, especially the carnitas entree.

I’ve come here a few times already, and never been disappointed! The food is always insanely delicious and they are so generous with portions. This time I took my partner and he had the Carnitas and I had street tacos. We finished with the churro ice cream and basically had to roll out of there. 10/10 will go again!

First time here and it was amazing! Had the street tacos (Carne asada, barbacoa, and pollo) and my husband had the Pollo Monterey and both were fantastic. Very friendly and the horchata was 10/10!

Took my wife here and was extremely satisfied. I had the menudo and if you are a fan which I am, it was great! Wife had a combo plate and loved it. Large amounts of great food. Billing is questionable but not out of line. I have been to several Mexican restaurants and seems to follow suit with the checks unless it’s a chain which this place has a family atmosphere. Check it out

I’ve eaten at this restaurant before, but it’s been a long time so I decided to pick up some dinner on my way home. Absolutely amazing if y’all haven’t tried this place you are missing out. I ordered the steak fajitas and chips and queso and got my son a chicken quesadilla and a couple of tacos. This is the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. I ordered mine online and then ordered more when I got there for my son and the girl that took my order was super sweet and friendly and the amount of food for the price is phenomenal. Will be back soon for more food and margaritas.

It saddens me to put this cause I think there food is good. But they just write a price down on you ticket. It was just me so I asked what the extra price was. They are charging 10% tax on your food. I told her it’s 6% in KY and she said there wasn’t a manager there and she thinks it changed! Huh? No I looked it up to make sure. She told me that is what they were told to charge!! So who’s keeping the extra 4% off all the checks? That is just not right so I won’t go back

Ole boy showed up with a fresh plate of chips and salsa before we even finished sitting down, got a modelo in a pitcher, portions are huge and the food taste great, it’s also conveniently located in the plaza next door to the laundry, 10/10 would recommend
