Food is decent for Mexican food in Iowa. Just don’t accidentally leave your phone in your booth. The phone was not returned and I have pics of the location of someone’s house it was at just before I called and bricked it. You’ve lost a customer because of your dishonest employee.

A friend and I stopped after an evening of shopping… we waited a long time just to be seated. After we were seated, we waited even longer to order. And then longer yet just to get our drink order to our table. Then we waited to order. Once the food arrived, it tasted average, but below average for the cost, unfortunately. I had never spent $70 at a subpar mexican restaurant for dinner (single chicken burrito) and just one round of drinks. When I went to use the restroom there was a sign on the door stating that a pipe was broken and to use caution as the floor would be wet- It appeared as though the sign had been on the bathroom door for a while. Dinner and one round of drinks took almost two hours. {sigh}

Steak Fajitas for lunch. Chips and salsa great. Salsa a little hot, just the way I like it. Food came quick. Had leftovers to take home. Fajitas are $10 for lunch.

Tacos Al Pastor were amazing. Husband says fish tacos were great. Service was on point and we felt like they went above and beyond. One kiddo had shrimp enchilada and didn’t like the filling (he’s 11) but said the shrimp, sauce, and tortilla were all great. Sent me home with extra sauce for the tacos. I will eat here every time I’m in Dubuque.

It’s okay. I gotta say I was surprised by how much less good-tasting the food was, and the unfortunate service, compared to the other Los Aztecas on Dodge St. I love the other one!

Very good Mexican food! The chips and salsa are yummy, and the margaritas are strong. But I would highly recommend the steak tacos over anything else.
