My enchilada came out cold and, even though the menu said it had chicken, there wasn’t a single piece in it — just cheese. For $23 (including tip), that was frustrating. I also ordered two tacos without cabbage, and the cashier even repeated my order back: “so just meat and onions?” I told her no, I wanted lime and cheese — that’s literally the only way I’ll eat tacos. But when I got home (just three minutes away), my tacos were cold too and missing everything I’d asked for.
What really confused me is that I waited inside with my buzzer — so I’m not sure how the food got cold if everything’s supposedly made fresh based on the sign in the dining room. The ladies working were super kind, and the person who handed me my order wasnt the one who rang it in because she was eating when I left, but still, the experience just went south after I actually opened my bag.
Instead of the lime I asked for, I got a pepper, which would’ve been funny if I hadn’t specifically said no peppers or jalapeños.. it literally says on the menu that it comes with lime yet somehow they gave me a pepper . I might sound picky, but when you spend some of your last few dollars hoping for a good meal and end up throwing most of it away, it kind of ruins your day. Especially after i told her two different times my order to make sure it was correct. It just isn’t the type of economy to be playing with peoples money. It normally wouldn’t even be an issue but I think people should know that there is 5x better for half the price.
I’ll probably stick to Joey’s they’ve never gotten my order wrong, and the food is always hot and flavorful for half the price. It’s just a longer drive. Even then my food is hot when I get home.
Love the #19 Fruit Plate
Yesterday was no exception. Everything I tried was absolutely perfect❤️
I saw a post from her page and it’s initially what caught my eye. 1 drink in particular (the 1 shown below). I don’t know the name of it or exactly how to describe it, other than it being one of the best shakes I’ve ever had.
I also saw another post from her page about pupusas. They just happen to be one of my favorite things to eat and I’ve never tried theirs. I’m so glad I did. They were also some of the best I’ve ever had. They were massive and perfectly cooked. I ordered 1 of each flavor. Chicharron, pollo, and tinga. All 3 were uniquely delicious. I highly recommend using the green or red sauce as well.
I even ordered some elote en vaso/esquites/whatever you want to call it. It was heavenly .
This place always get a 10 out of 10 from me for the quality, quantity, and amazing service.
Y’all go see Maria Vega and find out what amazing creations she has or is coming up with.
One thing I wanted to add. I showed up right around 7:45pm. Keep in mind they close at 8pm. I typically never like showing up that close to closing. I asked them if they were putting everything up and the girl up front politely told me that they would still gladly serve me. The best part is, 3 more families walked in after 8:15 and Maria and her crew still served them with a smile. That is what I call customer service❤️
This place is pretty new, and I like supporting the mom-and-pops. It’s hard running a restaurant, esp. in winter. Check them out! Also, a board-game shop just opened a couple doors down. Great combo.
