Wellsboro is so lucky to have this gem of a restaurant in town. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Mexican restaurant offering authentic flavors. It’s not easily found in rural Pennsylvania. The tacos de lengua were the absolute best, but my partner and I enjoyed all of them so much! The meat was seasoned perfectly and everything was so flavorful. The salsas were super delicious. Everything was gery reasonably priced as well. We live an hour away and decided we will make this our monthly date spot. I can’t wait to come back!

Service was very friendly. I just can’t with the food though. Taco salad, lettuce shreds with a plop of ground beef (that is highly seasoned salty, taco bell meat) and a few cheese pieces. Nothing else. I need and want flavor. Add some pico or something. That’s not a taco salad. Bring the condiment bar back so we can add flavor to the food atleast?

This place is pretty legit! The food was great! I’m not disappointed with our lunch. Only negative comments from my friends were the taco salads were a bit lacking for the price, and the nacho cheese was lacking flavor. I definitely enjoyed the chicken enchilada it was packed full of meat, and so was my burrito! The salsa bar was definitely a plus, and the staff was also very friendly! Will definitely stop again when I’m up that way!

I love trying Mexican restaurants while traveling and this is one of the BEST Mexican restaurants that I’ve experienced. The mild salsa had a unique smoky flavor that was really good…did I mention they have a salsa bar . The menu included 3 tasty soups including Pozole which was delicious! I’d also recommend the quesabirras taco!! Our group of 7 people all loved our meals. Clean atmosphere with friendly faces. I’d highly recommend this place!!

Order at counter and they’ll bring your food out to you. They’ll clean the table too so make sure to leave some tips. Lots of options from the menu. There is a salsa/sauce station for you to select your own sauce.

Very disappointed in our experience today. I eat a lot here on my own because my boyfriend works a lot. Thought it would be nice to come here for Mother’s Day because he knows I enjoy the food here. He was very excited to try the birria tacos here and unfortunately they never came.
They have changed the way that you order. We came to the register where orders are usually placed, the menus on the TV are no longer on. We waited for a couple minutes before anyone acknowledged us and we were taken to a table. Now you order at the table, but the service was slow. The server was new, but he didn’t get the order right and was not the one who tried to make it right. My boyfriend was looking forward to the birria tacos all week, and it put a damper on our day. He was also upset because they ran his card right at the table and he felt obligated to tip well because the owner ran the card right at the table and was watching him. The new setup would be great if service was more attentive and the server got the order right. We had to get our own boxes and water was never refilled. Complimentary dessert for Mother’s Day was a nice gesture.

Atmosphere- 3 stars- Fairly New Mexican restaurant located on Main Street in Wellsboro PA. Seat yourself/counter serve style restaurant. Plenty of indoor seating with some outside.
Service- 3 stars- like I said this is counter service so kinda hard to rate however they give you a number for your table and will bring food to you. I don’t believe they have much of a staff. On the day we were there I only saw three. This could definitely be an issue if they were busy. I noticed the table outside was not cleaned up when we went inside and was still like that when we left.
Food- 4 stars- this was the highlight which is the most important part of every review. I got a two taco combo (one hard and one soft) (one with chicken and one with ground beef) the combos come with a side of rice and refried beans. Tacos were prepared fresh and were delicious especially the ground beef one. I requested regular fajitas style chicken but got shredded instead which was ok but my wife had gotten the fajitas style and it was really good. Rice was good but I wasn’t a big fan of the refried beans. We also got a cheese quesadilla which was really good- very cheesy!! They don’t give you complimentary chips here so if you want that you will need to order as a side. Overall I enjoyed my meal and would recommend and go back.
