Our dishes are always prepared with simple, yet sophisticated presentation, using only the best ingredients available. We believe in classic dishes with a creative twist, which is reflected in our signature dishes such as our Los Agaves Enchiladas—filled with fresh halibut and shrimp, red pepper, onions, and topped with our smoky chipotle sauce—or our Chiles Nortenos—stuffed with shrimp and Oaxaca cheese and topped with chipotle dressing. Our many variations of our famous Ceviches are also a fresh, crowd-favorite menu item.

Everything was delicious and came out fast. Horchata was amazing too.
You have to order at the front but multiple workers asked how’s everything or if we need anything else, so that’s great.
They have a salsa bar, the green guacamole salsa and haberno salsa were my favorite.
– Diverse Mexican menu choices.
– Amazing salsa bar (mild, spicy, and very spicy choices).
-Indoor and outdoor seating.
-Parking can be tricky but totally worth the effort.
My plate was delicious and authentic.
The soft shell crabs were fried perfectly right, and is crispy, supple, and slightly on the salty side, making the crab flavor stand out more. The salads that came with most dishes were fresh and has this very tasty sweet dressing with mango bits and tangerine slices in them. The burrito de pulpo (grilled octopus) also had stronger seasoning that is just right.
Decor and building look a little aged. The outside seating area welcomes dogs. The salsa bar has more varieties than most, with all salsas medium hot except for one mild and one hot.
Ordered the Steak&Shrimp Fajitas, and the soft shell crab tacos from the special menu.
The ambience was nice and lively, service staff were also friendly and food was delivered fast.
It’s a solid stop before a Santa Barbara Bowl concert if you want dinner and strong but refreshing cocktails (one of the only spots on this busy street with a full bar). Get there early for dinner service because the line gets long. There’s a patio tucked in the back and friendly staff that keep things moving.
Quick rundown: order at the counter, grab a number, then take a seat. Complimentary chips arrive fast, and the self-service salsa bar and fountain drinks keep things moving. Staff still checks on you and is happy to take your cocktail orders if you’re running low. Efficient and appreciated.
The Agaves enchiladas are forever my favorite. That smoky chipotle sauce with the seafood filling just works. Served with rice and a house salad (the mango dressing deserves a moment), so yes, it’s a full situation. And the Agave margarita? Make it an XL with a Tajín rim.
No reservations, but online ordering is available. Small parking lot in the back plus street parking nearby. Casual, consistent, and always hits. Los Agaves stays winning.
