Went NY Eve but very early, 3:00 pm. We had a reservation. We didn’t leave until 5:30 pm. Julie our server was very tentative and pleasant and checked in on us constantly. We had the New Year’s Eve special. Lobsters we think we’re slightly overcooked. But the clams were good the shrimp was good as well as the one pound of snow crab legs. We were in no big hurry but we could see if they got a lot of customers where service could slow down. There are only two servers and one bartender. We noticed the bartender was also doing the takeout orders so Julie our server also had to go and pour drinks at the bar. We understand that they have only been open two weeks but they will definitely need more staff. We will go back for date night. They have a full working bar and we like sitting at the bar. We will see how it goes going forward. Attaching the menu for those that want to know. Down side is they are only open from 3 pm – 9 pm.

First time there and it was SUPERB!!!!! We went from starting with appetizers of steamed clams and crab dip to me having the amazing crab cakes and the kids having steak and chicken tenders. We were checked on not only by our waitress but all of the staff repeatedly! It was cool to see a live lobster tank outside of a grocery store too!
We will absolutely be back. Woodys use to be my favorite seafood restaurant but Lori’s Place has now surpassed them entirely!
Thank you for an amazing meal and hospitality.

It was slow when we went in. We sat at the bar and the service was great, the food was tasty. The hushpuppies which is an order of 7 small hush puppies($6), and the fried sampler ($31) with crab cake, clam strips, and fried fish and 2 sides was the perfect amount of food for 2 adults. Please give this place a try despite some other negative reviews like we did! We’ll definitely be back.

We enjoyed a night out with some friends & met other friends while we were there. The atmosphere was comfortable. Skylar was attentive & pleasant. She have us time to enjoy our drinks and chat with our friends before she took our order. Our food came & it was well prepared. The wait staff even waited while we prayed over our food so as not to interrupt.
The food tasted good & was very tasty. The portions were sufficient & appropriate for the cost.
We will dine there again and will recommend to others

Came in and ordered steak only to be told “no steak available.” The service was good. Wait time for food over 20 minutes but considering the food was being made fresh the time was good. The baked potato was good. The broccoli was excellent and the crab cakes were okay. The crab cake are very small for the asking price and were cold in the middle. The cab bisque had no taste and was very underwhelming. The fried oysters were excellent.

My family and I came about 1 week after they opened.
I’ll start with the pros:
The food is amazing. The seafood was cooked to perfection. The crab dip was actually crab and not a lot of cheese like other places which was top notch. Shrimp was cooked to perfection as well as the snow crab legs.

The cons: we were there for quite a bit of time. They needed to hire another server because drinks sat empty for a little and the wait for the food was long. The fish and chips are fish nuggets and not the nice pieces of fish so that was something I wish would have been explained better.

They were still working out the kinks and in they make the crab dip and no bread a little bigger because there was not enough bread.

I would come here again in a heartbeat even if the wait is a little longer. I wish they would be open for lunch.

Went here for my daughters birthday. We literally waited OVER 2-1/2 hours for food to come out. My son & his wife got their food, ate, & paid their check LONG before my wife & I ever got any food. My other daughter whose birthday it was, cancelled her order and left after 2 hours and 15 minutes. It was a Friday night & they had 3 servers who were also their own bus person and who also had to work the bar. They had no dishwasher, and 2 cooks which were also the dishwashers. The crab cake was good. The steak was fatty and gristly, thin, and not seasoned well at all. This is a $30 steak mind you, and I think another $14 to add a very small crab cake. I can make a steak at my house in probably 20 minutes to include prep. I waited almost 3 hours for this bs. They open at 3. We got there at 530 & they were out of cream of crab soup. After almost 2 hours they brought the butter out for the baked potato that showed up almost an hour later. Great thinking getting that butter out there early. Who brings the butter out for a potato without the potato?!? My wife & I each had 1 beer and bought the table 8 shots, had crab dip & crab ball appetizers. The bill for just my wife and I was $270 before any tip. Sob story or not, I will NEVER go back. You don’t open the doors on a friday night to a supposed steak & seafood place with 3 servers who also bus their own tables. Work the bar, and Im sure, help wash dishes! The prices will easily pay for more staff but the owner won’t hire more. Id skip the place if I were you but if you want to try it, do it soon. This place wont be open long.

My husband and I had dinner about a week ago. We waited quite a while for food, but that happens when all is freshly prepared. Our server was attentive. The cream of crab soup was bland and had flour lumps in it. I got stuffed shrimp which was good, but there were only 2 shrimp. This was an entree, not an appetizer. It came with 3 asparagus spears and a small baked potato. I have a small appetite, but this was not enough food for a dinner. I could not finish the soup. We each had appetizers and wine, so this was not an inexpensive outing.

I’ve debated on leaving a review of this establishment. First and foremost, I understand they’re new and working out the kinks, but I can’t help but feel underwhelmed. The service was immaculate, and my waitress was very attentive, kind, etc. However, this is the only positive I can give. On the contrast, the cream of crab soup lacked flavor except for the flour. The roux needs to be cooked more, and to boost the flavor I would recommend adding white pepper, more old bay, sherry and use a sachet filled with bay leaves, tarragon, lemon to round out and brighten up the soup. On a more personal note, the soup is just a touch thick for my liking, but that’s just me. There should be more foundation to this soup using mirepoix to help build some complexity and layer. I digress. I intended on ordering the ribeye, but was told that it was being substituted for a NY Strip. Fine, I love NY Strip, but this strip was mediocre. It was cut incredibly thin which leaves a lot to be desired when cooked to mid-rare because the steak will develop no crust. Additionally, there was hardly any seasoning. Perhaps they could finish the steak with a maître d’hôtel butter to work in conjunction with the protein. I will give credit where credit is due, the steak was very juicy, but as aforementioned, there was a lot left to be desired. The tater tots were middle of the road, and the applesauce was fine, but an incredibly small portion. Overall, I think Lori’s Place has a lot of potential, and I want to see them succeed as they’re the only restaurant in town doing MD inspired food. I would love to give them another shot, but these issues are egregious and need to be reconciled ASAP.

Not sure why there are so many 1 star reviews. The food was great. The staff was great. Everyone is nice. We will definitely come back.
