For anyone second guessing this place—don’t! The food is phenomenal, and you’ll be so glad you came. My husband and I aren’t huge fans of French cuisine and we were blown away. The food was absolutely delicious! The service was incredible and everyone was very kind. Everything was delicious from the bread, to our cocktails and our mains. I got the duck confit, and my husband got the fillet mignon. Both were fantastic and oh so tender. Will definitely be visiting again the next time we’re in Chelsea!

I went there for my friend’s birthday celebration. Been surprised with atmosphere, had feeling like I’m in chateau somewhere in mountains. About food, as we were group of 16 people for us was presented very limited menu of 1 soup, 3 starters, 3 main course 2 deserts. Main course Duck confit was very delicious. Starters could be better, but I choose from what was offered – pork with peppercorn terrine – it was not bad. Soup was fine. Dessert White chocolate moose was pretty not bad, but I’ve tried Creme Brulee from my friend, and it was not good. Strong side is definitely service, very appreciate servers efforts. Overall not bad experience, but they should offer more options to choose, specially with price range they have!

This place is really good. Food is top notch, warm inviting atmosphere, beautiful surroundings. We’ve been going here since the late 1990s. Not cheap but the food reflects what you paid for with quality and a high degree of care and skill. Really interesting locally inspired selections.

This a truly one of Canada’s “gem” restaurants. Wonderful dishes, expertly prepared. My favorite dish is the rabbit leg when they have it on the menu.

The ambiance in a rustic log cabin in Old Chelsea is truly unbeatable and sets the scene perfectly – a great romantic spot for a date!

Pictured is the halibut rillette, duck breast and my delicious desert.

Ask to be seated in David’s section – very professional, friendly and his service is beyond reproach.

Had an good experience at this restaurant. The food and drinks were fantastic. We did the table d’hôte for $84. This included 4 courses (Soup, Appetizer, Main and Dessert). Everything was great. Restaurant has nice atmosphere. Only negative thing to say, was the service was slow considering the restaurant was not very busy. Our waiter would disappear for long periods of time.

I’ve heard this is an amazing restaurant so I thought I’d give it a try. My daughter had the vegetarian option which was a squash pasta and it was bursting with so many flavors. I had the beef tenderloin and it was outstanding. I could cut it with a fork. The service was incredible. The staff worked well together as a team. They were all very pleasant and professional. The food was served hot and we couldn’t have asked for any better service. You won’t be disappointed.

I went to celebrate my birthday, and the food was delicious. Everything on the menu is really good. I recommend to share plates to save space for dessert as it is really good as well. Service was great and tap or american express are not accepted as payment method.

Perfect experience. Absolutely beautiful rustic, old school, restaurant in Gatineau Hills / Chelsea. Has the feel of an old home with multiple smallish dining rooms and a big terrace. Food is French/Quebec with an extensive wine list. Usually when I see French I think stuffy, but this place is relaxed, but makes some of the finest food you will ever eat. Staff is relaxed, friendly, and very knowledgeable about wine pairings. Full bar as well if you are not a wine person. The mushroom pasty was great and the sweetbreads will make your eyes roll back in your head from enjoyment.

Delightful wintery evening for my husband and I at L’Oree du Bois. All four courses were delicious and impeccably presented; appropriate portions and superb ingredient combinations.
The service was friendly and respectful of us enjoying an intimate dinner together. It provided the perfect environment for us to talk quietly and feel the calmness of the room.
We will be back.
