Well done, cool space, all the things that are good!
Definitely worth checking out. Tried the biscuits & gravy, full 2.0, pancakes all were solid renditions of the traditional meal with a twist.
Callout – The French press is a full French press not just a personal sized one
I have NEVER been to a worse restaurant with Michelin star in my life. And never been so disappointed in a place that charges as much.
Food: (horrible)
– absolutely everything is very spicy WITHOUT any mention of that in menu
– poor presentation
– cheap low quality ingredients
– burnt
– absolutely NO flavor to food except spiciness
Ambience:
– loud and tables are too close to each other that you can feel a breath of a person sitting in a next table
Service:
– we have been waiting for our food for over an hour even though we were first in restaurant
– waitresses didn’t know anything about their drinks and when we asked for semi sweet wine the brought us super dry without even warning that they don’t have other options
Not recommend this place.
Sorry.
The menu was great, everything we tried was scrumptious, portions were just the right size.
The place is nice decorated and would be very cozy if it were a little less loud.
Our final bill had a Rethink fee added to it, which wasn’t advertised anywhere and I feel like there should be more information on what that is (there’s a website indicated that you can check but I would prefer it to be explained more explicitly. I don’t mind supporting non profits of that sort, I just don’t feel it should be forced onto people like that).
10/16/2025 – Always the best vibes at LORE. Chef Jay and his team are the most hospitable every single time! I always leave with the fullest and most satisfied because the food is absolutely delicious.
The scallops were nothing short of incredible! Perfectly seared with a golden crust and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The duck? An absolute standout. Rich, flavorful, cooked to perfection, and plated with care and balance. Every bite felt intentional, crafted with love and serious skill.
But the real magic at Lore comes from Chef Jay Kumar. He’s not just cooking, he’s telling stories on the plate. A true talent and visionary, Chef Jay is the heart and soul of this place. You can taste his passion and brilliance in everything that comes out of the kitchen.
The staff is warm, the energy is authentic, and the food? Easily some of the best in Brooklyn. Lore isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience.
I learned dosas are naturally (and typically) gluten free!!!
