Had an outdoor table in the sun in February. Not bad. Menu at 39 euros was good value at lunchtime. Enjoyed the food. All delicious and creative. The asian waitresses were lovely and smiley but the one French waiter was rude. What is it with French waiters? He obviously didn’t want to be there. This is the only reason I gave 4 for service. Would still go back and recommend.

L’Orangerie is a perfect place to enjoy real French cuisine. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully cooked. We loved the foie gras, Duck Galette with orange and coriander and the Peach Melba with verbena ice cream— everything was excellent.
The service was friendly and attentive, and we had a lovely warm evening outside which made the meal even more special.
If you are in Menton and want great French food in a welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant is a must. We will definitely be back!

We decided to check this restaurant since it was Michelin guide suggested. Chef is from Japan and , in our opinion, was trying too hard to blend French and Japanese cuisine together. Unfortunately, everything that our waiter suggested to us we did not like. It seemed like trying too hard to impress visually but did not impress my tastebuds. However, the items from the usual menu were very good. Duck was impressive and very different ,well prepared, scallops were so velvety and delicious. Unfortunately, we picked Macho tea tiramisu ( from our waiter suggestion) and it was not good in our opinion. I have to say, that lots of people around us finished the dishes completely. That is the reason I have 4 stars. But if you are looking for French or Italian food, I would pick another place. Servers were not trained properly, most of them just started there and were pretty new to the whole fine dining experience.

Enjoyed very much my dinner: every dish was flavorful & delicious. Returned the next evening, ordered the same starter and dessert and tried a different main course. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal again. When I return to Menton, I’ll definitely go back to L’Orangerie.

Nice food, huge portions for their degustation menu option! We were honestly soo full by 4th course.
We have been to a few Michelin restaurants and unfortunately it does not really give Michelin calibre! We heard crockery and glasses smash on 3 occasions and didn’t have our courses explained very well to us.
There was a very sweet male waiter who was doing his best which we appreciated!!! But what seemed like maybe the owner (?? the older man) was visibly angry and ordering staff around very rough.
Maybe this was just a bad night? Flavours of the dishes were quite nice still!

Great presentation and taste. Catered toward my gluten sensitivity well. However wish the combination of food was more fresh and easy to digest. Had trouble with that and suffered.

Wonderful dinner on my first day in Menton. The taste of entree and main course is well balanced. I have been to many Michelin-starred restaurants and I think L’ORANGERIE can compete head to head. Thank you for a terrific evening. I will come back in the near future.

Food was great. Loved the peche Melba. Also liked the duck and the tartar starter was solid. I think prices are fair for what you get. There was a young lady who was waitressing who was very nice and very warm and friendly. The older gentleman who was serving me was less warm in his service.
Overall, I’d recommending visiting. Reservations are recommended but I got lucky walking in. They fill up fast.

Each dish is meticulously prepared, and the presentation is outstanding. You can indulge in an affordable course at a reasonable price, making it a restaurant worth trying at least once. I found some of the flavors quite intense and bit rich, perhaps due to the combination of dishes. You will enjoy classic French cuisine with a little Japanese touch, crafted by a Japanese chef with extensive training. The restaurant has only been open for two years.
It’s wonderful to have such a lovely restaurant in Menton. Wishing them continued success and growth!
