Hadn’t been here for a very very long time, but decided to give it a go recently and now it’s one of our favorite go to places. Consistently delicious food, very friendly service, clean surroundings, and inexpensive wine. I get the Cantonese Chow Mein noodles with chicken or barbecued pork, which comes with loads of fresh vegetables on a bed of noodles. I get chili oil on the side for some nice heat.

nice voice answered the phone, took the order and confirmed
nice person at the cash served when i picked it up

the vegetable chop suey . the worst. no vegetables just sprouts.
no carrot no onion no celery no mushroom no cabbage

so i called and the same nice voice said the vegetable in the vegetable chop suey was the sprouts. the rest of the meal was average at best. still looking for our new favourite.

NYE was super busy, the place was packed for pick-up orders. It was well worth the wait. The ginger beef was sublime. Everything was fantastic. The star of the show were the egg rolls. The best in the HRM.

In a world where it seems everything is plagued by shrinkflation, decreasing quality, poor service, Look Ho Ho is an exception and continues to provide both value, incredible food with fantastic portion sizes, and absolutely the best service anywhere. I’ve had dine in, takeaway, and delivery over the years and each and every single time my food and order has been perfect. It’s truly the perfect restaurant – consistently amazing food and service. One of the few restaurants I go to and are genuinely proud to support each and every time.

Wow, this is my go to place for Chinese food going forward. I had delivery from Uber. Bring it to my home which was 25 minutes away. It arrived hot and fresh great portions. Very very tasty. I’ve had Chinese food before but this place is on the top of the list I will be returning again and again thank you so much. Great service great food much appreciated. I had the sweet-and-sour shrimp beef, fried rice, chicken balls. Everything was fantastic and hot and package very well.

This place is the absolute worst. Ordered food for pick up at 7:30pm on New Years Eve 9:00pm still no food. The 8:00 orderes were starting to come out. Now I get that it is new years and they are busy. However these people have no business sense and run this place very poorly. The guy at the front was telling people 45 minutes when in reality it was 1.5 hours. No apologies offered just a room full of people waiting for food that was ordered well in advance. As we waited more people kept arriving and the guy keep saying they were a little behind. Totally lie. A little behind is 15-20 minutes not 1.5 hours. When I asked why the 8:00 orders were coming out when some of the 7:30 orders had not been competed the guy at the front said of its done in batches. Ummm no. Sorry not gonna fly. It was free for all. One girl said her order was to 8:30 but they called and told her to come for 8. Also the people brining the orders out from the back were very quiet and you could not hear them. So 2 hour wait for Luke warm Chinese food the cost 90 bucks. Honestly this restaurant needs to do better. You need an app or something to help people keep track of your orders and where in que they are. We drove 30 minutes to get there ( I know not crazy long) but we could have chilled at home and waited. Also the older lady that was behind the bar for a bit was extremely rude to a customer whose food order was placed for 6 o’clock and 8:50 he finally got his food. It was their fault they missed the order. She should be fired. There is no need to be rude when it was your mistake. Speaking to a few people they will not order there again year. Why have a pick up time if you are not going to honour it.

Consistently the best Canadian Chinese food in Halifax. Their eggrolls, ginger beef, lemon chicken, flavourful, brothy broccoli… everything I’ve tried there is A+ and tastes fresh and homemade!! Pick up a mug while you’re at it 🙂

We went to Look Ho Ho around 6:30pm on Saturday November 1st. We were told to sit anywhere and they would come and clean the table. No one came until we called someone over after 15 minutes.

We placed our order and my and my daughter’s orders came out about 30minutes later. My wife’s order took another 15 minutes and it was wrong. Took another ten minutes to be corrected and returned to her.

Other than dropping off food no one checked on us or asked if we wanted anything else.

We heard other tables near us with similar complaints about poor service and receiving incorrect orders. If this is the new normal for them I would not recommend.
