when we first got there we were greeted and seated by the host. i then met with my mother as we were both excited to meet for dinner.
The waiter we had was named Hanna. Hanna’s overall attitude was disgusting. it is understandable to have a stressful day or possibly being overwhelmed due to crowd and demand, but to just show you do not care and be rude is insane.
Hanna had no service skills. Hanna took forever purposely to come to our table and check in to ensure we were ok. Any time a question was asked about the food or menu she appeared visibly agitated and showed attitude. She also had a slick mouth which wasn’t appreciated when asked questions. She didn’t ask if we wanted additional drinks, water re-fills, or if we even needed anything. She randomly gave us our bill not inquiring if we wanted any desert or anything additional like the servers there usually do. We planned to have cake to celebrate my mom but due to Hannahs attitude we decided it wasn’t best. She took 10-15 to bring everything we had asked her for when we were able to catch her to ask for additional things. After waiting minutes and reminding her about my second side she caught an attitude. i unfortunately had to eat my steak without my side which i did not enjoy. We asked for napkins and she just threw them on the table.
Her attitude, her demeanor and overall service was a 0/10. She truly showed that she did not care to serve us. There was nothing we did to receive the service as her initial greeting was just rude and stank. You can tell she didn’t want to be there and was ready to go.
Due to her service she was not tipped. She rolled her eyes at my mom when she was finally done with our table.
Usually longhorn is our go to spot to relax , enjoy good food service, and have a nice margarita. Hanna made us never want to come back to the Merrillville location. Customer service just isn’t for her.

They didn’t give us bread right away, they were out of key things on a menu, and they tried to make up for it.
They were understaffed and neglected us service
It really effected the tip we gave however the staff was friendly and courteous
