I asked if we could get cinnamon sugar for the butter for our bread, which seemed like a harmless ask. After that, the entire tone of the service shifted. He completely stopped checking on our table. Instead, he repeatedly went to the tables in front of and behind us, while ignoring us altogether.
To make matters worse, our food took over an hour to come out, and when it finally did, two of my sides were missing. When we tried to politely let him know, he rolled his eyes and walked away mid-conversation.
When we later asked for to-go boxes, he brought them over in a manner that caused him to drop the bag that would’ve held the boxes, he didn’t even stop long enough to properly place the boxes down he basically tossed them onto the table while walking past, he did stop or turn around to pick up the bag that was dropped.
He never came back to check on us again. We even had to ask another waitress for a to-go cup and bag before we could leave.
What started as a normal dining experience turned into some of the most dismissive and disrespectful service I’ve had at a restaurant. A simple request should not result in being ignored and treated like an inconvenience.
Very disappointing.
This Saturday team really knew what they were doing . Ill definitely be back
he said, “I’m sorry but if you’re not ready, I need to go greet this other table.” I paused with confusion. It was shocking to say the least. I immediately said, That’s okay, thank you, and got up to ask for a manager. I explained and asked for a different waitress/waitor. A waitress named Dina took over. She seemed great. I was relieved, but still uncomfortable with the first encounter. We ordered again and about halfway through our meal, I decided I wanted to write a review. I chose to write the review not only because of the first encounter with Riley, but also because Riley continued to serve tables all around me, presenting himself as very polite, in the most dramatic way. This is very typical when people have treated you badly and they want you to think it was you and not them. So this was not surprising to me. Riley went from standing directly in front of the table in front of me to now standing almost between their booth and mine to make sure I heard him being extra polite. That’s why I decided to leave the review. I did not like the disingenuousness of that. A few moments later, I asked a guy walking by for Riley’s name. Strangely, & possibly a coincidence, Dina came to see if everything was going well, but walked away while I was still answering her. She was literally looking me in the eyes when she turned and left. Both me & my son noticed this. Again, very confusing. I was trying to ask for the check. Another waitress saw me peeping around my booth and asked if I needed something. She got Dina’s attention and Dina eventually brought the check. She asked if we needed a takeout box. Upon returning with it, she walked away immediately, as I was placing my card in the check “book” that she’d placed beside me early. She just kept leaving before I could speak a word, yet she made eye contact everytime. Just then, the manager walked by. I got her attention and suddenly Dina appeared. I don’t know why Dina’s behavior changed so drastically. I have a hunch as to why, given the timing, but it’s not even worth mentioning. The bottom line is this was our first time at this location. I’ve been to the location at Regency multiple times and have never had an issue whatsoever. If I can help it, I will never patronize this location again unless it’s to see if I have a better experience. If not, I will write the company next time. I strongly believe that how staff members treat customers is a reflection of their leadership. This remains to be seen. Overall, I would not recommend this location. I would highly recommend Regency location. Hopefully my next experience will be MUCH better.
