This longhorn location sadly keeps getting worse the longer I go there. I keep hoping they will return to the typically consistently good food I have come to expect from Longhorns. The only consistency seems to be the disappointment. Spicy chicken bites get more overcooked every time I order them. The fire grilled corn on the cob is one of my favorites with crusted parmasean. However, this time, they seasoned it with old bay. It’s really disappointing. Steaks are normally good but dry and pretty void of any flavor on this occasion. I really hope they improve.

Prime time, Friday night. We weren’t in a hurry and didn’t mind the 20-minute wait. Wait- person was good at first. Unsure what happened, but her visits to our table lessened once our order was placed. Another wait person helped us once in her absence. Drink replenishments were scare. Hubby’s steak was over seasoned but cooked well overall. We wanted dessert. Ordered the stampede. Have tried it before and knew what to expect. The cake was frozen and difficult to eat. I’ve had sub-par experiences here before which is why I don’t visit often, so I wasn’t surprised this time.

As always, a lovely restaurant with its Old West Texas ranch themed decor. Let me preface what is a far more critical review than I typically give anywhere by saying that our party was large, and no doubts about it, a challenging group. Nine people in our party, one small child, one wheelchair occupant, one with a cane, and one with a service dog and one with food allergies. However, bulk of our party we arrived well ater the lunch rush… About 1:30, with final members about 1:4. The host polite, but not congenial in greeting and seating a large party, especially a group with diverse or complicated needs.

A+ Was not busy at all so we were seated immediately. I guess it took a little longer than the manager wanted for us to get our drinks so he offered a free appetizer. Food was delicious and the service was great. Steaks were perfectly cooked… Would definitely recommend.

I was just served by probably my favorite waitress ever — I’d never met Kat before tonight, but after tonight’s experience, I feel like I’ve known her for years! She was incredibly kind, so funny, beyond thoughtful, and just totally aware of the atmosphere — like, she just naturally and expertly read the room, ya know? I’m not sure I’ve ever felt so special and valued as a customer. I’m at a loss for words to express how genuinely impressed I am!

The place wasn’t very busy and I should have taken that as a sign since it was lunch rush time. I wasn’t thrilled with my order. My steak was over cooked and grissly and lacked flavor. And it was a lot smaller than I expected it to be. I don’t know if it was because it was lunchtime or what but I was disappointed considering the cost. Texas roadhouse is way better and more flavorful. So if your in lake city and want a good steak then go to Texas roadhouse instead.

We have had Kat as our waitress 2 times and I can’t say enough about her. Kat has the best personality and deals with customers with a good sense of humor and smile. The food is fantastic and is my favorite restaurant by far but Kat is the icing on the cake. We will request her every time we go.
