I’ve always loved Longhorns, but of course quality can vary at each location. This location is amazing. To start, the wait for any newly opened restaurant is going to be long, no reason to be upset over an issue that every new restaurant faces. There were a few empty tables scattered throughout which leads me to believe part of the wait is due to lower staffing. After getting seated the food and appetizer came at the same speed as any other restaurant, despite how busy they were. The service was great, Elizabeth was very friendly and entertained my pretty dumb sense of humor. She was very attentive to my wife and I, and our waters were never empty for long. We got the wild west shrimp as an appetizer, and it was amazing, the complimentary bread was also good. My entree was the ribeye with fries and rice pilaf. The steak was cooked perfectly medium all throughout, and tasted amazing. The sides were great as well. My wife got the parmesan crusted chicken and she loved it. Overall, the food and service was amazing and we’ll definitely be coming back. If you don’t like waits, either come early or wait for the new restaurant hype to die down, but if you can tolerate the wait, it’ll definitely be worth it.

Overall a great experience at Longhorn. I enjoyed the chopped salad, bread, crispy brussel sprouts and shrimp with peppers. Service was good, even with a packed restaurant. The only downside was the 2 hour & 45 minute wait to be seated, after placing our name on the wait list. They have been open in Lynchburg a short time, so I recommend and would try again.

Joined the waitlist, which is great b/c you can do other things while you wait and see how many parties are in front of you. The bar manager came around to our table and introduced himself, very nice and talkative. Our waitress Zamyriah was great! And very attentive to our table. The bread was nice and hot. Our salads were really good and my friend ordered the Wild Wild West Shrimp, so good!! Food was delicious! I got Parmesan Crusted Chicken with mashed potatoes, my friend’s mom got salmon and a sweet potato, and my friend got a steak and a sweet potato. I will be back very soon.

With this restaurant being new to Lynchburg, I figured it was best to just do a pick up order for lunch/dinner. I ordered online through the app. I must say I love the app. It’s user friendly and you can check in on the app when you arrive. Tim was the gentleman that brought out of food. He was very kind and offered great service. Unfortunately I was running about 30 minutes behind to pick up my order because so got hung up at work. It was nice that he took the time to check to make sure everything was ok. Once I got back to eat my food. It was amazing. I did the potato soap and grilled chicken with rice. Great flavor and I love the bread. Definitely recommend.

I’m not one to normally go out and treat myself to a nice dinner or one to leave reviews, but knowing this location of longhorn had recently opened up in the area, and wanting to try it I did. I was incredibly happy with my experiences here to put it mildly, and yes I said experiences, as I ate here not once but twice in the same week bringing one of my good friends with me, and clearly it was good enough that a non review writer like myself had to chime in.

Service:
To start the service was excellent, both times I came in my waitress was Abby, and she did an absolutely phenomenal job, she helped me make all the right decisions which made my experience far better than it otherwise would have been, and she was very knowledgeable on everything involving the menu and offerings. My good friend also thought she did an amazing job and had much the same thoughts as me. So for anyone attending this location, if you get Abby as your server you will be getting incredible and knowledgeable service.

Food:
Now for the food, both times I attended I got the longhorn, which is their best and most premium steak option, and it did not disappoint, genuinely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had on both visits, as it was a medium rare that biting into was as smooth as butter. The loaded baked potato was also incredibly good, and the Mac and Cheese is absolutely phenomenal, and obviously made fresh, and genuinely could not be better. The second time I came in I got the same meal with the addition of the lobster tail, and that was also incredible. Abby had also made several good drink suggestions which were all incredible such as the Dragonfruit Margherita, and amaretto Sours, which as someone who does not drink much were both phenomenal.

Atmosphere:
As for the atmosphere I loved the overall vibe, the newness of the restaurant definitely shows, and it is clear both management and the staff take pride in and prioritize the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is a nice change compared to many other restaurants in the area. The bar area particularly has a very nice ambiance about it, and I found the time there very enjoyable.

Verdict:
5/5 stars without a doubt, the service, food, and atmosphere were all incredible, and once again to anyone going, don’t be afraid to get something more expensive as it will be worth it, and if you get Abby you will be well taken care of, if any of their other servers are anywhere near as good as her, then this restaurant will be in great hands for a long time to come, and the same goes for those on the grill. Truly a great all around experience.

We knew before arriving to add ourselves to the waitlist online to avoid a long wait being it’s newly opened and everyone is eager to get in. Upon arriving we waited a total of ten minutes if that were greeted and seated and our server came right for drink orders, suggested a few menu items for us as we waiting for our Texas onion appetizer, my husband decided to go for the outlaw ribeye with with mushrooms, broccoli and a Caesar salad. I went for the New York strip with broccoli mushrooms and a Caesar salad. From start to finish everything was fresh, the service was top notch and we even tried the strawberry cheesecake desert with real strawberries! We will return !

I was extremely excited to try Longhorn in Lynchburg, we called about 4:30pm to join the waitlist, they said 2hrs, that’s fine we can wait. Well, 6:30pm rolls around & they still hadn’t called us, we went in to check & they told us we had only been there for 1hr & 5m, and we’d have to wait another hour. Now, there were 6 adults and a baby, so we get seating can be complicated. We got seated, the atmosphere was really nice, our waitress super sweet. The winds & salad were delicious, well, we all ordered steaks (different kinds obviously) two servers (not our waitress) brought our food, and instead of saying the order and handing it to the right person, they proceeded to just start handing out food and talking between themselves. When we stated that the person they handed the food too wasn’t theirs, and we gave it to the right person, they got annoyed & became very rude to us. My daughter got a steak $ fruit cup, the fruit cup ended up being just grapes, and they had this weird taste on the outside of them, so I didn’t even feed them to her. My fiancée’s Brussels sprouts were burnt as well. They forgot a baked potato and asparagus, which again, huge table not an issue. But they were extremely rude & also proceeded to look at my daughter extremely rude (she’s one) because she was talking and making noise sitting in the booth instead of the highchair. 6/7 of the steaks came out wrong, instead of saying anything and causing a scene, we just ate what we could.. two of our people couldn’t even eat their steaks because it was too pink… I definitely expected better service & food from here, I get they just opened & need time to get ahold of things, but I was extremely disappointed.

The Parmesan Crusted Chicken was incredibly flavorful and easily the best I’ve had in this town. It was paired with macaroni and cheese and a house salad, both of which were fresh, well-seasoned, and prepared just right.

The Porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection and truly melted in your mouth. He usually asks for A1 sauce, but this was the first steak he’s had that didn’t need it at all.

The cheesecake was hit or miss. While he enjoyed it, the syrup was overpowering for me and made it difficult to finish. That said, the cheesecake itself was creamy and delicious.

We were seated immediately upon arriving around 4:45 PM on a Tuesday, which was great. Unfortunately, our table was positioned directly under an air vent, which caused some discomfort. Our server was polite but fairly surface-level and very slow. We had to request refills, and after paying, we felt rushed to leave even though we were still eating dessert.

Additionally, tables were being cleared by brushing napkins and debris directly onto the floor. Nearby staff frequently chatted among themselves, and some of the conversation was loud enough that guests probably weren’t meant to hear it.
