It’s been a while since I’ve visited longhorn and this was in California
Glad to see this as part of a choice.
The hostess was very nice, got ushered by Andrew and our server was also pleasant.
We’ve enjoyed our food and left with more
Would come back here again and highly recommend it
Anyway, we ordered what we pretty much always order. Started off with their wing appetizer, which was amazing as always. Longhorn is literally the only restaurant I ever order wings from, because their dry rub is THAT good, without being super messy – especially with their ranch. Would HIGHLY recommend them. For entrees, both of us ordered filets. Mine was cooked perfectly. My roommate’s wasn’t (even though he said it was when our server asked him to cut into it – that’s on him for not speaking up). I had the broccoli and fries as my sides. Delicious. They have some of the best fries I’ve ever had, and the broccoli was full of flavor. My roommate had the house salad and asparagus. All good. Honestly, never had a side at this location that wasn’t great. Our server was amazing, and very personable. Never had to ask for anything. The only reason I’m leaving a 4 star review instead of 5 is because of the lack of bread. The first time it happened – okay, no biggie. The second time, I was disappointed. This time, I was kind of annoyed. For me, it feels like going to Olive Garden and being told they ran out of breadsticks.
Only one other complaint…I can’t remember how long ago it was, but it’s been at least a couple months…I ordered a medium rare filet, and it came out well done. When I say well, I mean no pink in sight, and it was as tough as a sirloin. This was the first time in my life I’d ever sent food back to be remade (I’m 31). A few minutes later, the kitchen manager came out and tried to tell me they couldn’t cook the steak any closer to medium rare than they did because of its size, which made zero sense. I was so dumbfounded, I just kind of looked at him for a a few seconds before explaining that I order the same steak, cooked the same way, every time we come in, and it’s never been that well done or tough. He said they could remake it but couldn’t guarantee it would be medium rare. Like, what…? I just said, “Okay, thank you!” Anyway, the remake was (of course) fine, but the way the manager handled the situation definitely wasn’t. Being a server myself, I would NEVER try to gaslight a table, and having a manager do that…I was truly shocked. I’m just hoping the current kitchen manager (whether they’re the newer one or the one I just mentioned) figures everything out soon, because I used to think of this location as the best Longhorn I’ve ever been to.
