Thank you
Immediate sitting, yes. 30 minutes to even be asked what we want to drink while tables around of come and go. One of us had to go to the host and asked if our waiter left as he didn’t even seat us or give us silverware. Didn’t even give us his name.
He finally comes, they give us appetizers, we figure that’s it with issues. 20 more minutes. The table directly next to us that just had someone sit down after the previous table left gets their food, we finally get asked GIVEN the drinks we had ordered 20 minutes ago. 10 more minutes pass, I have to ask where our appetizer is, he says it’s coming, 15 minutes and it arrives after the 30 minutes we waited total from placing the order, for something as simple as french fries.
30 minutes pass again, the table next to us leaves and ANOTHER is sat again, this is the THIRD table while the 6 of us are sat down. We ask the waitress behind us who isn’t ours what the hell is going on, she says she’s noticed and she’s watching and sees him actively going to tables around us, and she’s getting close to phoning him out to the floor.
Our food is finally brought to us. My coworker cuts into her steak, hardly eating in the hour and a half we’ve been sat so far, and not to mention it’s her BIRTHDAY. Her steak is freezing cold, her broccoli is cold, her baked potato is even cold. Her daughters boyfriend pokes her food and confirms it’s all cold. We’re all offering to give her a bit of our foods, but she’s absolutely disgusted at this point with the service and just asks them to take it off the bill when he walks by- mind you, he never checks up on us and asks how everything is, and when she says it’s cold and to take it off her bill, he says nothing but “alright.”
The manager has walked by us several times at this point but not once this whole visit did he pop over and ask us if we were okay and acknowledge our experience despite food being sent back and having to track down our waiter. We work in food service, so we had expected he would have came over to check on us.
Anyway, my chicken tenders are charred and dried out, but I eat them anyway because whatever, it’s just chicken, I can get by with the char taste, and the rest of my meal is fine. My coworkers daughter takes a bite of her shrimp, which she assumed was warm because on the outside it felt warm, she bites into it, it’s freezing cold too.
I excuse myself to the rest room, and inform a waitress it’s my coworkers birthday but she wouldn’t like a song to be sung to her, and order her a slice of cake and specify it’s for a surprise. The waiter as he’s passing by us almost ruins the surprise and tells us he’s bringing the cake soon. I have to play it off and thankfully my coworker didn’t hear him properly, I tell her not to worry about it and he’s bringing something for my family for me to take home to them.
30 more minutes pass. We’re all finished. We’re all looking around and sitting with our coats on. Eventually I get sick of it and I ask the waitress behind us rather than our waiter if we could get the bill and express we’ve been sitting at our table for 3 hours with hardly any service. She pages him and we have to wait another 15 minutes for our bills to arrive, not including the time it took for him to settle the bills. My coworkers birthday was ruined. We arrived at 5:15 pm and were not served our drinks until around 5:40, we were not served our food until around 7, and we were unable to leave until 8. The service tonight was terrible.
