One of the best salad bars around.
About 10′ long. Lots of fresh choices. Included with most dinners.
Not too noisy. Steaks, burgers and shrimp skewers cooked on open grill in the dining room. Food has always been good for us.

We’ve been coming here off on for the past 20 years, never thought it was great, nor bad. Tonight it was excellent, feels like it’s being run well. Very clean, excellent salad bar, meat was grilled to perfection, steak cuts were A+. Although there was only 1 server, she kicked ass waiting tables and grilling the meat. If you haven’t been in awhile you should definitely come back.

I’ve been driving past Longfellows every so often for the last half century and have never managed to stop in to see what it was like. Recently I finally stopped in for dinner. Now I know what it’s like. I wasn’t impressed. It’s clearly a leftover from a different age of dining, and I never thought I would be served a steak that was TOO rare, but that’s what I got. That steak was also smaller than my left hand, and I’m pretty sure that the slaughterhouse WALKED that cow to death. The baked potato– which was ALMOST– completely cooked, was just slightly larger than a tennis ball.
For this meal (see photo) I was charged twenty four bucks.
The real star of the show was the salad I built at their salad bar which was fairly well stocked with nice, fresh produce.
But what I got wasn’t worth the price they asked for it, which is a shame, because stepping into Longfellow’s Inn is like stepping through a time portal and into 1973. The place has its own weird kind of charm, but not enough to make me want to go back on my own anytime soon.
Best of luck to them in the future, though.

Driving through Scappoose friends encouraged us to stop at Longfellows Inn.
Our steaks were grilled while we watched
The Ribeye steaks were delicious and quality beef.
The atmosphere was chill and unpretentious and our server Kenna was attentive and cook my steak just to my liking.
The bar is relaxed and friendly.
I’m so glad we stopped, whenever we visit family we’ll be rolling in.
Thanks again for your hospitality.

Had not been here for awhile and I missed NOTHING! It USED to be pretty decent food and drinks. Definitely NOT worth the money now! The potato was Dinky – about the size of a raquetball.
For 3 out of our 4 meals, the meats were over cooked. We ordered “spicy” Bloody Marys, but they were disgusting & over the top, salty. They weren’t spicy OR taste like there was any alcohol in them either. Just bad tomato juice. A lot of money for a lot of nothing that tasted like hot garbage. Unfortunately, I’ve found that Columbia County is filled with some of the worst work ethics, where “good enough” is the basic attitude & what is served reflects that. Will NOT be coming back.

Cozy little restaurant/bar tucked in on the main drag in Scappoose, OR. They grill out in the open of the restaurant so you get those good meat smells as you walk in. I had a regular recommend the Beast Burger…and it was amazing. You should come in for one too!

Not a bad little joint. Good was pretty good and the drinks were stiff. Scappoose had few options, but, if you choose this one, it’s a good choice. So the food is grilled right on the middle of the bat. Kinda weird, but a unique experience. Not what you’d expect from a random hole in the wall bar.
The interior is very dated and it’s definitely not a high class establishment. Drink selection is minimal. However, you get the basics and prices are excellent. Again, the food is surprisingly good.

Best salad bar in town. Salad bar is always full and fresh. They have amazing ranch, try it! Clean place and great service. Neat artwork on the walls. I love the women’s bathroom. It’s like taking a step straight into the 70’s. Bathroom is alway clean and stocked too. (Women notice these things)
