The Longboards concept focuses on local culinary favorites, good vibes, and a fun place to catch up with family and friends. Todd had the idea to build the Longboards concept from his upbringing in Hawaii–fresh seafood and amazing surf. This was the basis for the restaurant–solid approachable vibe with friendly service and affordable dining options. Today we continue that vision to be a locals favorite for food and service!

Lunch out by the water (inside dining) on a chilly, blustery day, celebrating my mom’s 90th birthday. Food, service and atmosphere were stellar. Piping hot fish, delicious fried and steamed shrimp, fries were delicious and crab dip with pita bread were awesome. It’s added to my favorite list of restaurants in Norfolk, VA.

The Longboard’s location in East Beach has been a local favorite for some time. The food and service are reliably good. The atmosphere is also terrific because you have lovely view of the marina and outdoor seating that is dog friendly makes it particularly nice in the summertime. My only negative comment is that the prices are becoming exorbitant. Lunch for two people ordered from the daily specials menu and not drinking alcohol cost just over $90 with tip. At these prices I may not be back anytime soon.

Great spot by the water! The place was clean and the view of the boats on the pier made it even better. We grabbed the shrimp platter and it was delicious—the shrimp were steamed just right and the coleslaw had a nice little spicy twist that really worked. On top of that, $4.50 mimosas? Total win. Perfect place for a casual pop bite and a drink with a view.

Longboards is such a great restaurant with beautiful views of the marina and water. Our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, always on top of everything which made the experience even better. They have some really nice happy hour deals, and we started off with the crab dip. As a Maryland girl, I thought the flavor was delicious, but it could have used way more crab. For my meal, I had the shrimp tacos and they were an absolute 10/10 fresh, flavorful, and definitely something I’d come back for. Between the service, views, and food, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Really nice spot on the water, plenty of parking and great food.
I got the fish and chips which comes with one big piece of fried fish, seasoned very well, with some friends and coleslaw. Crab dip was pretty good but the pita chips they give you with it were even better.
The shrimp tacos were also right and proper and came with rice and beans (which to my surprise also had beef in it which was great).

Man, did “BRIAN” ensure that a lukewarm host greeting was SUPERCHARGED with excellent bar area table service! Whoop! Whoop!
Seems to be a fun “regulars” neighborhood hangout & it was St. Patrick’s weekend! ☘️ Brian’s cocktails were awesome: a Crush & the Painkiller!!
I enjoyed my Fish Sandwich (fried Cod) & tasty perfectly cooked fries. House salads were fresh & the croutons must be housemade, they were delicious. But the STAR of the table: THOSE BUTTERY DELICIOUS OLD BAY WINGS!!! WOW! Some of the best!!

Can’t say I was very happy with the food as the teryaki chicken I received was raw. Three large pieces and they were all chewy, raw, and bleeding. 3 other guests also complained while I had my stay here and it made me worried as I have dealt with food poisoning before. They offered to get us another menu item but still charged us for that as well. This situation was not handled properly in my opinion, but the other food here was quite good. At least it looked good.
The scenery is amazing, the marina just outside is perfect for sunset pictures and just looking around.

Update – my last visit was 4 years ago – Happy to say everything still applies! Wings were still amazing, service was great and fast. We caught it at a slow time between lunch and dinner, but I’m sure it still gets very busy. Great outdoor seating options overlooking the marina, fun cocktail menu, and a great variety of food options (even though we got wings again).
Stopped in at the end of August (2021) on a Sunday evening. They had wings on special and our group agreed they were some of the best wings we’ve ever had. A great variety of sauce flavors and they were large, perfectly cooked, and well sauced. Fries and fried pickle chips really rounded out a cheat meal Sunday. The location is great right on the harbor looking over some beautiful boats. Would love to get back and try some other things. They had limited dining inside and no sitting around the bar.

The location is lovely, and the restaurant is decent. The prices are high, and happy hour deals aren’t really deals from my experience. Draft system is down so you can’t get a draft beer. Bottles and cans (same as 7-eleven), marked up 4x. Since no drafts, if you don’t want cheap beer, your next option are very very overpriced cans ($11). Not a good option for anyone looking for a deal. I was shocked to see $54 tab with zero food, zero discounts of any kind when they had system issues and a lame offering. I live in East Beach and just won’t go here again, nor my friends whom I talk to (maybe 50 locals). We go elsewhere, and seem they are not getting any better. Failing systems, and no discounts for the hassle. My take is they need $$$ and are falling apart, so they will charge double when they can. Not cool, go elsewhere! Hot Tuna is cool, Stony’s is cool, Longboards needs to do a lot to get back on the list of go-to’s. Not very hard to accomplish but they’ve managed to get on the “not worth it list”

Food was good and enjoyed the atmosphere. Would definitely like to try it again when it’s warmer so I can appreciate the views.
