Haven’t been to LJS in a minute. I am so glad I decided to stop by because the fish was on point. You can tell it was fried fresh. The hush puppies are always a side I have to get by the dozen, I can dust them off on my own without anything else. We also had the fried shrimp. The food was not a oily like I remember. So definitely a plus on that. Follow other reviews @ IG: eat_n_critique.

I generally do not leave a review regardless of the quality of the service. However, my experience just moments ago warrants a review. I just purchased a fish and shrimp dinner and was informed that any tarter sauce packets would be 15 cents a piece. So you not only pay for your meal now you are being charged for your condiments as well. The restaurant I visited is in a depressed part of town, so I just took it as being how this Hood store does business. I will not go there again.

The last several times that I went to this location over more than a year, they have refused not to burn the food! Once, after a long discussion, the manager stopped just short of burning the fish, so I did leave with food, but I have left on several other occasions when they insisted that burned food is normal, and I must be the only crank on earth who doesn’t love burned fish and chips!!!
