Some people say the Springboro (SR73) Long John Silver’s is actually the greatest restaurant on Earth. I’ve been told by several (reliable) sources that they’re on the waitlist to get a Michelin Star.
A superior seafood dining experience with superior service and management that cares very much about the customer experience. I would pay $75 a plate to eat here – it’s a miracle that I can spend less than $15 and get 4 tendies, a 24oz. Mountain Dew, fried clams, and hush puppies. Below I’ve included a picture of my typical meal here.

So, I always wondered why this place never seemed busy. But one day I really wanted shrimp for no reason at all. So for the first time in over a decade I stopped in. First impression, the lovely lady that took my order was delightful. Second impression, oh it’s not busy because the prices are akin to low tier dine in places. Third impression, it was worth every dollar. The food was excellent, portions were big. I’ll come back not just for me but because the wife loved them hush puppies.

I was not impressed tonight. I arrived a few minutes to 9 pm and wasn’t annoyed with having to wait. What concerned me was the language coming out of one of the young man’s mouth. It was so foul, the young lady shut the drive thru window; and got my order together. I ordered a 3 piece chicken meal. I got home and 1 piece was fish. I gave it to my dog because I don’t eat fish. I was the very last customer of the day. Maybe they were just tired and wanted to go home… I was taught to treat everyone as if they were your first customer of the day. I think that a lot of people have forgotten what customer service means. I just think they could do better. On a good note, my food was hot and fresh (even the fish that I never ordered) and a bad note, my stomach has hurt so bad after I ate.

Usually a wonderful place to dine but this trip was not so. We went in and the person that took our order was just short of rude. He was giving very short responses and did not seem like he wanted to be there. Got our food fairly fast. We were getting sauces and drinks and by the time we sat down our food was being brought to us. The batter on our fish/chicken was very mushy and falling off. Was a complete mess! Not very good at all.

Employee’s were very friendly & helpful. One gentleman came out twice to check on us & see if we needed anything else. Mind you, Long John Silvers doesn’t have servers, it’s counter service, so that was very nice & considerate of him. Food quality was good & tasted very good. Would eat there again & recommend.

Came here for dinner. It was a couple minutes after 8pm. They close at 10. When we walked in the floor was freshly wet mopped. There was no attempt at drying. Very dangerous for customers to walk on with or without a sign. We placed our order. The soda machine was already broken down. We had to wait for it to get put back together. I just wanted sweet tea. We did get our drinks. I go to throw something away. The trash can was already gone. UpNext the ketchup, shrimp, and tarter sauces were already gone. The food came and it was good. While eating one of the girls mentioned her ride was there. I’m assuming the guy that told her she needed to wait until we were gone was a manager. At that point she just kept watching for us to leave. Even before we were out the door at 8:28. She cleaned the table. I would understand if we walked in 10 minutes to close but not 2 hours. I have not felt that unwanted at a restaurant in a long time.

It was Friday in Lent so finding this place was good. 2 fish tacos plus a side of green beans cost 9.99. The fishing the tacos was torn apart and SMOTHERED in some kind of Sriracha and the green beans tasted like a sweet drink had been splashed in them. Yucky. I was asked about sauce and then got NO tartar anyway…smh

Last year, I went to the Long John Silver’s in Centerville, OH. I was craving fried fish and hush puppies. Unfortunately, when I ate my food, I felt like I made a horrible decision. It was Gastly and each bite just released grease and oil. The pieces of fish were soggy and just disgusting .I never wanted to go back to a Long John Silver’s. This year, I am taking part in Lent. So I went to this Long John Silver’s in Springboro, OH to give another try. I ordered grilled shrimp. To my surprise….it actually tasted good. Just yesterday, I went there for the third time and I ordered coconut shrimp and some fish planks. It was fantastic. The shrimp had great flavor and the fish was crispy and hot. The food tasted like it should….good! It didn’t make me regret my choice to eat there. I asked for the manager and the owner. I gave both of them a great compliment and I was never so proud to ring that bell at the door three times. I hope that other Long John Silver’s pay attention to this review because I have seen several Long John Silver’s restaurants close. This is one that I would like to see open and continuing to produce fried and grilled seafood the proper way like they are doing now. I will definitely be returning this coming Friday for more fish. Keep up the great work!

Service was amazing, wonderful teamwork among employees!!! Food was good sauces we’re not good. Tarter sauce tasted just like mayo cocktail sauce tasted like tasted ketchup. The structure itself was a lil rundown and bathrooms had that just been cleaned look but was still nasty. The place needs repairs.
