We have been to a few Long John silver’s and we’ve been to some that have been horrid, like London Kentucky. This one is in Manchester Kentucky off 421, we walked in to see a bright very well maintained interior, clean very good service all the employees were dressed in Long John silver attire add show to complete customer service attitude. I would not hesitate to return to this restaurant, and I would recommend it to anybody who has the urge for fish in Manchester Kentucky

As a principle I don’t review fast food restaurants. They are a class of themselves and we all know that the staff who work here have little autonomy and are usually paid criminally low wages. I recently experienced a particularly upsetting situation with this location that extends beyond the expected shenanigans of fast food. I ordered two #10 meals and one Chicken Sea Share. Despite being the only customer in the drive through, I was parked and waited for about 15 minutes for my food. I don’t live in town and I didn’t arrive home until around 9PM, which is when this store closes. Upon arriving home I found that one of my #10 meals was forgotten. The #10 meal I did receive was missing both sides, only including the entrees. Mercifully the chicken was unaffected and my family was able to make due. I paid $37.98 to have over half of my food missing.

The next day I called with my receipt and order number and spoke to a manager named Mary H.. I shared with Mary what I did above and simply requested a refund for the missing items. I did not complain, though I would have been within my rights too. I’ve worked in food service and I know these mistakes happen. Unfortunately for me, Mary did not seem keen on assisting me. She was quick to lecture me by saying I should have called sooner if I wanted a refund and shared that because I hadn’t the best she could do was replace my order if I came back. Again, I do not live in town. It’s over an hour round trip and I am not going into town to receive a replacement meal that I don’t want. Mary responded that she could give me a refund, despite originally saying she couldn’t, but that I would have to bring in the card anyways so I might as well take the food. As someone with experience in the finance industry this is inaccurate and a physical card is not required for a refund (as anyone who has shopped online can tell you). When I pointed this out, Mary doubled down and again tried to force me to take the replacement food. I asked what they do when someone is traveling and can’t come back and Mary confirmed that they would ‘hold their replacement meal’ until they came in. If this is truly Long John Silvers policy it is completely unreasonable and takes advantage of their customers. I was charged for items I did not receive, received poor service, and now I need to invest more time and energy to get back the money that was taken from me in error.

The original review is above, save a portion regarding reaching out to Long John Silvers Corporate. In my original review I indicated that I would reach out to the corporate office to receive a resolution since manager Mary H was unwilling to assist. While I originally believed Mary was the issue in this situation, it seems this chain has larger, systemic issues. They never responded to my multiple requests for contact from their website. I was forced to file a dispute with my credit card provider, and Long John Silvers fought tooth and nail to retain their funds. They went as far as blaming me for this situation, saying I should have checked my food before leaving the parking lot and since I didn’t notice the mistake, they were no longer accountable. Thankfully my cardholder sided with me given the merchants egregious behavior. If you’re looking for something quick and easy for dinner, this was anything but! Nearly $40 for fast food, half the food missing, multiple formal letters, and a month later, and I have finally been refunded. For $40 you can get sit down seafood, not support this behavior, and not waste a month of your life dealing with a merchant mistake!

Staff was very nice but they were extremely short staffed. I waited 27 minutes for them to bring my food out and they brought out the wrong thing 3 times! The 3rd time I realize they had forgotten cocktail sauce, so I eventually had to end up going in and waiting longer for that. What should have only taken me 10-15 minutes it took me 40 minutes to get my meal. 🙁 the people that were working we’re very very sweet and we’re doing their best, considering there was only two of them. I love the food but the prices have gotten out of hand. Three pieces of fish cost me over $9. No sides, no drinks, JUST 3 PIECES OF FISH! Sad to say I won’t be going back any time soon. Not unless I get some coupons in the mail to offset the cost.
