10/10 Highly recommend. Really great and accommodating service. They didn’t have a changing table so they set something up in a room and noticed that I was sharing my steak with the baby so they offered to cut a portion to cook hers well done while I had blue rare. The food was phenomenal, highly recommend the Elk Loin and dry aged ribeye. The only thing I wouldnt order again is the Fettine. The brussel sprouts are perfectly smoky. Our friends raved about the churros. All of the cocktails and after dinner coffees were a great finish to the meal. The bread pudding was good but not exceptional. I wish I had gotten more photos but we were all so excited to try everything! Will definitely visit again.

Everything we had was amazing. Rachel our waitress was great, the somm had a wonderful zinfandel recommendation. The food, my God. The bison ribeye might be able to convert a vegetarian into a carnivore. Also pictured are elk sliders (ok), the prosciutto like meats (good), the beef marrow (very good), and the elk loin (would’ve been amazing if we didn’t get the bison ribeye which caused everything to pale in comparison). In total spent about $400 on food&wine

Austinites, let me tell you something, if you haven’t tried this restaurant, you are missing out on a quintessential Texas experience. Atmosphere, Texas-downed! Service, excellent and friendly. Food, a-mazing! I came for my anniversary and with every course, we found ourselves smiling. From Chef Nichlous Mason to Creative Experience Maker (server) Gladys, you will be overwhelmed by the experience, presentation, and attention to detail. I will definitely be coming back. See you there!

Very unique menu. Very cool ambiance. Our waiter George was great.

Only one critique. Some of the appetizers came out just warm and not hot.

The Brussels sprouts were the best I had ever had.

This might say more about me than Lonesome Dove because I wasn’t a fan and maybe that’s because I eat out too much in too many different restaurants. I don’t normally score this low, but my expectations were pretty high because I LOVE the Lonesome Dove book and series.

This restaurant is not based on that story from what I could tell.

The good: The server was friendly and conversational, but the delays between service were significant and the traffic was pretty light. The drinks were pretty good.

The not so good: There wasn’t anything that we ordered that was better than just OK. The fettine trio was cut so think that it lacked any taste. The butter lettuce had a glob of dressing on top with three small pieces of tasty pork belly on the side. The carrots were mushy and overcooked and the crispy Brussels sprouts were not crispy. We ordered the rabbit ravioli and it was also just OK.

We didn’t try the steak, so maybe that would have changed our review. Or we just need to stop eating out so much…

We spent our 11th anniversary at Lonesome Dove.

We have both been in the service industry most of our lives and have to say…. Our server, George was hands down the best server weve ever had.

He made the night amazing for us.

From his fun and hilarious introduction, his honest approach and recommendations to his wine pairings and overall vibe.

10/10 recommend asking for George if you want to amplify your experience here.

My husband and I went here to hang out while as we waited for our ride to take us to our final Austin destination.

The atmosphere was very relaxing and the happy
hour area was extremely comfortable! Faith gave amazing service – she was attentive but not too over bearing.

The food was delicious and the drinks were just as good! I highly recommend the Elk Sliders, the Fettine Trio, and the cinnamon churros!

Unbelievable experience at Lonesome Dove. My wife and I stopped here for lunch as we were already downtown. And it well exceeded our expectations. The food is utterly amazing. I had the sliced prime rib sandwich and my wife ordered a salad. Both tasted delicious and the prices were reasonable on the lunch menu. The service was phenomenal. I enjoyed the ambiance as well. Great decor throughout. We definitely plan to return soon.

Very good food! The Tomahawk is all you need for two people. That was my favorite thing –

The other things were okay. Service is nice, really chilled out restaurant (vibes wise).

We hosted a corporate event last night and had an unforgettable culinary experience. We ordered split appetizers and platters and the food was incredible. Our private party room was the wine cellar…it was cold . BUT Lonesome Dove thoughtfully provides shawls! Try the lightly smoked rattlesnake. Artful smoked quality meats and shareable options. Our guests were still talking about it the next day. Authentically Texan… we loved it! Thank you Chef!
