Tis the (crawfish) season. Lone Star has been our go to seafood spot on the Southside of town for years. The food is always hot and fresh. You know the seafood is cooked well when the snow crab easily comes out of the shell and the shrimp peels easily. The crawfish is currently medium in size ($10.99/lb). The stuffed boudin balls have a good amount of shrimp and cheese in the middle all while being nice and crispy. A household favorite is the shrimp fried rice. They do not skimp on the shrimp. Service is quick and all of the staff are friendly. Lone Star is a good place to grab food, an iced cold beer and catch a game if you dine in.

We visited for the first time Friday evening 2/20/26. The wait was around 30 minutes to be seated. Both of the cashiers had superior customer service and made suggestions to help us decide.
We tried the turkey necks, fried boudin links, crawfish and shrimp. We also ordered the green apple and strawberry mix daiquiri. The corn was my absolute favorite (10/10)
The daiquiri was decent.
The crawfish was maybe a 7/10 due to inconsistent texture. They were mostly small with a few good sized ones in my 2 lb pack. The flavor was good but a lot of them were soft and/or rubbery.
The boudin links were okay. Nothing spectacular. 8/10
The turkey necks come with sticky rice which was a bit odd but okay. 8/10
The lady who was bringing orders out was extremely disinterested and mumbled when she spoke so we never knew what she was saying.
The shrimp that was supposed to come with my order came 30 minutes AFTER the rest of the food.
There were 3 of us and they gave us, 2 bibs and 3 single gloves and acted as if that was all they could give.
Overall I give the whole experience a 6/10.
I would try it again if I am in that area and have no other options

This was my first time trying lone star seafood and my experience was amazing. This place is definitely top 2 on my list of favorite seafood. The restaurant was very very clean and organized. Paulina placed my order. She was polite and very patient. I ordered the Texas Slam. Very fresh, seasoned to perfection and they have the best “spicy” flavor to me. Not overly spicy and still well seasoned. The flavors were balanced very well. I can proudly say they will see me again soon and regularly.

I love lone star seafood. I have been coming for years but I swear every year it gets better. Everything is so tasty. Their Star sauce is so perfect with the shrimp plate everytime. This time I went for this plate and it was perfect And those new boudin balls

Food was fresh, flavorful and easy to peel. Will definitely be coming back. Crab clusters were huge which was a nice surprise, most seafood places give you small ones.

We came today for a Valentine’s lunch date and it seems like they are not prepared at all! They’ve been advertising all week for their Valentine’s specials so they should have been ready. The restaurant is decorated super cute, by the way, so good job on that! But…..
First: they didn’t have any lemons. How you not have lemons at a seafood place where everyone is ordering crab and crawfish?! We need lemons!
Second: the staff (all women up front wearing red and pink) were not friendly at all and at times down right rude and ugly to people.
Third: the crab and crawfish were definitely overcooked. The flavor is on point, as always, but the crab was too soft, every single piece broke and we could hardly get the meat out. The crawfish was super tiny, except for a couple of fairly big ones, but so many of them were super mushy and soft – couldn’t eat them!
We’re just disappointed. We love Lone Star but y’all really bombed on this Valentine’s special today.

Still one my fave cajun/seafood spots in Houston. The service is good and the food is always great! Can’t get good quality and fast service. I appreciate the good jams and how clean the restaurant is. Plus they’re always playing good tunes and have multiple TVs playing. Their daiquiris are also really good 🙂

I ordered the lemon pepper wings, and they were nicely cooked and very meaty. While there was a hint of lemon pepper, the flavor was more subtle than expected. The fries were seasoned, but nothing particularly memorable. I also tried the catfish filet, which I enjoyed—it had a nice flavor, was well-seasoned, and cooked just right. Overall, it was a pretty decent meal.
