This little place has the BEST fish & chips around! The last time I picked up our to go order the place was packed! I’m so glad to see that! The food is light and crispy and never tastes greasy. The family who owns the restaurant are sweet and kind.

Awful service.
My friend got an allergic reaction after asking confirmation of the ingredients insistently to make sure there was not the one she’s allergic to.
Instead of apologizing to her they got extra rude and started filming her to make her feel uncomfortable.

I went in to get myself some fries for dinner. The minimum they had was for USD$4.50. What I got was so tiny that it was laughable! And not only that, the fries were undercooked and cold. I’ve had their fish before, but that was just tasteless cod. They call themselves “London’s Best”, but if they were anywhere near London, they wouldn’t last a day!

I grew up going to a fish & chips place down in Hayward CA called “London Fish & Chips” that had the BEST hand battered fish and chips. Sadly the Owner sold it to a relative when he retired and the relative quickly changed the fish, the recipe, the fries…everything. I was devastated and for years I’ve searched for a replacement that could rival my memories of that place.
Fast forward to about a year ago, I moved up here to Grass Valley, and decided to try “London’s Best Fish & Chips”. My mind has been blown. I dont know if they’re related, or if it’s just happy coincidence, but what I discovered wasnt just great fish & chips, but a trip down memory lane. It tastes *exactly* like what I remember from London Fish & Chips in my youth down in Hayward.
Everything tastes fresh. The fish has excellent crunch, the fries perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside every time. The fried prawns are also cooked perfectly every time, using the same type of batter as the fish. Hands down this is the best Fish & Chips place in Nevada County, maybe even Northern California. You’ve got to try it!

Haven’t been in here in awhile and felt like some fried oysters. They were overcooked and the fries were overcooked as well. Seemed like it was old oil. No real reason to go back.
