We had delicious, authentic Mexican food from Lonchera Don Jose. The tacos are big and flavorful, topped with cilantro and onion, and there are several meat options available.
I’ve eaten here a few times and my favorite has to be the Birrea or consommé for dipping your tacos, which is sometimes on the menu. It is so good, I could dip and drink an endless amount of it. I’ve heard the menudo is out-of-this-world good, too! The prices are affordable and the portions are generous. If you stop here for breakfast or lunch, you won’t be disappointed! We’ll be back again soon!

The barbacoa tacos were decent. If you order a gordita, you want to specify that you want a masa gordita because I got a flour. Gorditas are traditionally masa. This was disappointing. Even the picture on their trailer showed it made of masa. The green sauce burrito was mainly stuffed with potatoes and so runny that it fell apart. Best was their red sauce shredded beef taco. Service was indifferent.

We showed up at 1:30pm for lunch and quickly found out most things (barbacoa / tamales) were SOLD OUT. The lady at the window was super nice. We got settled with $3 tacos which weren’t bad. We’d go earlier next time.

We tried ordering some pork tamales and they informed us they were out. So we asked for 2 tacos and they said they dont speak english and cant help us, we felt discriminated against, especially because we were patient and kind on our part.
