We were immediately seated, and while we were a bit overwhelmed due to it being our first time, the kindness of our server definitely helped us settle in. The drinks are out of this world, and the food matches that perfectly. We got the arancini, the carbonara deviled eggs, a carne asada taco (with pineapple salsa), the beer cheese soup, and the andes mint cheesecake. All were stellar, but my personal favorite of them all was the arancini!
The holiday menu that’s currently available is full of delicious food and drinks (including the Cool Runnings and Eggnog Old Fashioned), and I hope to try some more in the future in this gorgeous establishment. You can tell that everyone here is having a blast, and the DJ that’s present adds a lot of fun to the music.
Definitely a must try!
The atmosphere they have going makes me want to come back despite the opinion that I felt the food didn’t blow me away. A very 70s/80s vintage feel to the restaurant.
I had the deviled eggs, not pictured and I was actually disappointed because the pictures made it look so good.
The chicken dumplings were well made and sauced and not very spicy. The spicy dan dan noodles were also not spicy at all and just fine. The smash burger was delicious and the sauce on it was fire. I also liked the homeade ketchup and ranch. The ranch felt more like a garlic sauce to me but I was not upset about that.
The lolas spin was also quite fun!
I would recommend this because of the experience but the I wouldn’t overhyped the food. It’s good, but I was expecting for it to match the experience if I’m being honest.
We ordered Sichuan Chicken dumplings which were decent but way too salty. Also had the Kathylicuous pizza which was decent but nothing to write home about. And lastly the pasta (dont remember the exact name) which was very very good – probably the highlight of the night.
Also tried out 2 mocktails both of which were quite good although a little on the pricier side. The overall bill for all this came to around $90.
If you are bored by the Madison food scene in general, might be a good place to try out. Maybe you end up ordering differently and have better luck than us.
