Long awaited restaurant for Jones Valley area. We met the manager, who helped acquaint us with the menu. Plenty of choices to customize your entrees and sides. Quick and efficient service. Nice outdoor patio seating right on the Greenway.

I love that the food is just a little unique from other similar restaurants in the area. The staff is incredibly nice and it’s got a great vibe. The sunset from the outside patio is a great experience!

So went to try it out, overall it was decent. Their quesadillas use cheddar so don’t know if that what made it taste a little more salty or if it was the meat that got over salted. Their tacos were pretty decent. If you get a combo it comes with drink and chips which the chips &salsa are pretty good. Only wish since love queso that they sold that since think the chips be great with it. Side note their chicken soup is very healthy, just enough seasoning to give it taste.
Atmosphere is good to eat indoors or outdoors (depends on weather ,but if it’s nice they got big umbrellas for the outside seating)

I tried this establishment on an early super relaxed Sunday . I truly had high expectations but I think because I thought it was local cantina style eatery .
Let’s start with the positives, the server came over several times and checked in / on me.. immaculately clean including the bathroom , and location is on point.
Now areas to improve: food quality was mediocre it truly lacked those core seasonings to awaken my palate ; especially since I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo….salsa was watery as well sadly
The horchata iced coffee lacked that cinnamon punch! I think if more flavor is added it’ll be supreme! Would I recommend yes.. are there areas of improvement on flavor definitely! I think I may go try something else and not give up on them! Plan a shopping day/date and give them a try! Feel free to let me know your thoughts….

Dissappointing counter order mexican restaurant. Lola’s did not live up to the hype nor reviews. Chicken enchiladas were ok, but very chewy. The side of rice was undercooked. The flavor of carne asada tacos were mediocre. The high light was the spicy salsa that came with the tacos.
The layout isn’t the best either. The drink station is crowded as its crowded in with the napkins and utensils.

Today was our first visit to Lola’s Cocina in Jones Valley, and it far-exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere, food and service were all exceptional. They serve my personal favorite nachos in Huntsville: not too thick, not too thin…just right, and you can actually taste the corn! Highly recommend the puffy tacos with Guaq as the side. No disappointments, no suggestions, just keep on doing what you do best, Mr Sandoval!!

I somewhat enjoyed what I had from the chips and salsa to the two tacos I ordered. I was very surprised to find out the tortillas for the tacos were fresh. The carne asada taco personally wasn’t as great as I would’ve hoped, my wife and I ended up with meat that didn’t have much flavor to it. The fish taco I had was alright at best, nothing out of this world but I asked for no slaw on it but still ended up with it somehow so that was disappointing. The waitresses were very attentive to every single person in the establishment, She was going around throwing away your trash for you, getting you anything else you needed It was a very friendly feeling throughout the experience I had just being inside. I will say that it doesn’t feel like there’s a ton of space to sit inside since when I arrived it was packed and the line was at the entrance so it was tough. The margarita was one of the best I’ve had in some time, definitely worth experiencing at least once eating here. I wouldn’t call it “authentic Mexican” but that’s just me.

I recently saw a social media reel that I was so excited about and it made me so hungry. It featured the amazing Payton Walker from Tennessee Valley Living, exploring the vibes at Lola’s Cocina. The food looked so delicious; Then, Phil Sandoval chimed in about bringing the Tex-Mex food and flavors from San Antonio, Texas, my mouth started watering even more and I knew I was in for a treat. I was overly excited, and was there the next day. Being in Huntsville for less than 2 yrs and being from San Antonio Texas I was so ready to try this place out. And they have Big Red soda too!!
I walked in and had the pleasure of meeting Nick the Manager, related to Phil Sandoval. I believe he’s also resided in San Antonio Texas at one point, so he knows the greatness of real Tex-Mex food.
In order to try some of the Tex-Mex flavors and foods I’d say venture from the usual items ordered and ask which of these are the most Tex-Mex items on the menu: the Carne Guisada taco with or without cheese on flour tortilla, the Barbacos taco on corn tortilla, the Fideo Loco, Ceviche, the Crispy Dogs, and The Big Red!! Seeing these items on the menu took me back home.
Staff member and cashier at the time Brody was very inviting and professional when my friends and I approached the counter to order. Ella was super sweet, professional, and very attentive wearing a beautiful smile that lit up the place.

I had the #3 breakfast taco with egg, jalapeño sausage, and cheese—simple, satisfying, and only $5. Hard to beat that value, especially when it’s hot and fresh. Washed it down with an ice-cold Topo Chico and enjoyed a few quiet minutes on the patio before starting my day. The vibe is laid-back but thoughtful, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly or attentive.
As someone who meets with a lot of local folks through work, I love finding places like this—spots where you can talk shop, eat well, and feel at home. Supporting locally owned restaurants like Lola’s is part of what makes our business community stronger.
