I’m visiting from Florida and it was my first time here
The staff was friendly, and very attentive. They were all working and trying to keep the restaurant clean and in working order.
The restaurant is nicely decorated and the atmosphere is very nice and inviting. We walked in and we’re handed menus and we took some seats. I ordered the California burrito and the burrito is a good portion. The chips were good and the side of queso tasted great as well. Everything was cooked and seasoned properly. Very delicious and I will definitely be back.
A wide variety of Mexican dishes, a little bit for everyone. Come and support this place!

We visited Lola’s Cocina at Town Madison for a family lunch and had a pleasant overall experience. The restaurant itself is beautiful — very spacious, well-decorated, and welcoming. The atmosphere is bright and inviting, and the staff was attentive throughout our meal. The place is also impressively clean and very accessible, which makes it a great spot for families and groups.

The food arrived with excellent presentation, and it certainly looked as good as any upscale Mexican offering in the area. However, while the dishes are visually appealing, the flavors didn’t quite match the same level. The birria, both in plate form and in the tacos, as well as the asada tacos, came across a bit flat. The tortillas had a sweetness to them that didn’t complement the proteins, which themselves lacked seasoning. While hot sauce does help, authentic Mexican food — like what you’ll find in Mexico or El Paso — should have a natural balance of flavors that the salsa enhances rather than compensates for.

That said, Lola’s Cocina is definitely a step above Rosie’s Cantina, which is very bland, and is on par with Phil Sandoval’s, given they come from the same family. If you’re looking for a beautiful setting, welcoming service, and a clean, enjoyable environment, this is a solid choice. But if you’re craving truly authentic Mexican flavors, I’d recommend Los Jarrochos.

Restaurants like this are not for everyone. The people there were great. The restaurant was new and clean. However the food left a lot to be desired. It’s expensive atypical for Mexican food. My wife ordered a burrito. I ordered tacos. One chicken, one Al pastor. The beans that came with my tacos had a different texture. They were almost creamy. We expected a dry burrito, but this came out covered in cheese sauce similar to a chimichanga. The taste was just ok. My tacos were mehhh. The chicken was better than the al pastor. Their salsa is different as well. It reminded me more of spaghetti sauce than salsa. We also ordered their Mexican corn. It was not good.

Be prepared for sticker shock at the cash register. Our experience was not worth the expense.

Our sole bright spot was our margaritas. My wife had hers on the rocks. Mine was frozen. They both were strong and delicious. I think they are half priced on Thursdays.

If we return, it will be for drinks only.

Very good experience and great food! It’s very quick too. Super friendly staff and it’s very clean. The outdoor patio area is awesome and will be great when the weather is nice out. If you’ve eaten at Phil Sandoval’s, it’s very similar food and drinks. This will definitely be a new regular place for our family to eat!!

The food you’ve come to know and love with a bit more motherly vibe hence the Lola’s name. But when I tell you I was BLOWN AWAY by Alberto’s level of customer service I am not exaggerating! This ma was knowledgeable respectful and welcoming beyond anything I’ve experienced recently. The interaction I had with him as a customer is worth the trio alone. Food is subjective. But you can’t deny the fact that HE is the reason I would come back again and again. Hands down props to him and whoever hired him. Above and beyond I wish I had more words to praise his level of service. But let’s keep this one semi short. Come one come all

Chicken taco: 10/10 traditional
Steak taco: 10/10 literally amazing!
Fish taco: 10/10 taste. But I would suggest less fish on the taco or 2 tortillas. It was falling apart.
Queso: 8/10. Bland on its own, but pairs perfectly with tacos. Great consistency on cheese sauce.
Salsa: 6/10: not traditional- kind of sweet…
Taco sauces: 10/10 Love the orange one
Lime: so juicy and fresh! Yummm!

$19 spent for the meal and 1 additional taco.
Which is great for quality of food.
Fast food, yes! but not processed meat- thank God!

Great packaging, everything was separated appropriately, wrapped in foil to keep heat, and perfect amount of napkins.

All in all- 10/10 experience. Grateful for lunch today.
It’s like street taco truck meets restaurant! Amazing idea.

The food is SO good, breakfast burritos are top notch! The heuvos rancheros were so delicious but the pineapple/habanero salsa is THE BEST! Guacamole and street corn will be an every time order.

The good: horchata is really good, love how ricey it is and not too sweet

The bad: on two separate occasions, the food is just…bad. It’s actually kind of yuck. This last time I got a “power bowl” with grilled chicken. It’s a taco salad. To be specific the chicken tastes like Sysco reheated, the shell is thick and oily.

Salsa has a heavy tomato sauce flavor

The dressing for the bowl is oddly lumpy and gelatinous? See photo

I got ceviche as a side. It was inedible. Orange, gooey? And tasted awful. See photo.

It’s been an hour and honestly tummy hurts after that

This was my first time visiting, but I’ll be back! I got the fried avocado taco combo. Everything was delicious and both the regular salsa and bean/corn salsa side had a tangy unique taste. Savory and diverse all around! The pineapple habanero salsa was also delicious! I look forward to more. It’s good to have this new spot in the neighborhood. 🙂
