Lola’s is such a gem! I was in the other day and really enjoyed the charming decor while I waited for my order. I love that there are books to read; it’s not something I often see in eateries. The menus have photos and descriptions for both food and drinks, which was very helpful. I will definitely be coming back to try everything on the menu! I ordered the pancit and the fried rice, both with chicken and they were unbelievably good. They offer generous portions AND compostable utensils! Everything looked very clean. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. I can’t wait to come back!

We were driving through Pontiac and decided to stop here because of the glowing reviews. Service was great and the whole place is really charming. Everything was reasonably priced. I had the Pinoy Burrito and a BBQ skewer. The food came out quick, hot, and delicious. Lola’s is definitely deserving of its nearly 5 star rating!

Delicious food, relax atmosphere i enjoyed seeing all the plants in the restaurant. I really wanted to try the pork belly but it was a menu item that was not available the day I went. I was suggested to try the Adobo and I also ordered the veggies and a refreshing spritzer. Overall the food was well seasoned and delicious. I also enjoyed the story behind the establishment.

I love the food, but no matter when I order online they NEVER have it ready on time. I ordered an hour in advance, came in to get it, there were TWO other people in the restaurant, and when I came in at 3:50, the pick up time, they were just putting my rice on the grill. A lot of time is spent chitchatting instead of cooking, and it shows. On top of that, they forgot my sauce.

Sometimes you run across a restaurant that just makes you smile. If you are just passing through on Interstate 55 and need a high quality break from driving, look no further! Lola’s Homestyle Filipino Cooking is genuinely one of those special places. Lola’s is clean, bright, welcoming, authentic and well managed by the owner.
The kitchen was immaculate and busy (see pictures). If you have $15 to $20 for dinner, Skip the fast food and get some classy made from scratch food here at Lola’s for the same money ( thank me later!!!). Offerings include rotating authentic Filipino dishes, as well as Ginger Garlic Short Ribs, Crispy Chicken Tacos, Pork BBQ Skewers, Ahi Tuna Poki, Crispy Pork Belly (a specialty here!), Korean Burnt Ends Tacos, Chicken Adobo Wings, World Class Ramen, Pancit Noodles, Beer & Bagoong Chicken Skewers, Popcorn Chicken (choice of ten different sauces), Fried Rice, Bangus (fried fish), Crispy Pork Egg rolls (top notch!), Stir Fried Veggies, Loaded Longanisa Fries ( cheesy sauce and green onions). Desserts include “Halo Halo”, Sweet Potato Fries (powdered sugar & marshmallow fluff) and authentic made from scratch Ice Cream ( Mango, Uber, Buko Padan or Black Sesame). Many drink offerings including various flavors of Boba, lemonades, and sodas. I hope the folks in Pontiac appreciate such a special restaurant and having it well staffed and managed by on-site, working ownership. The attention to detail, care put into service and the immaculate cleanliness is a rare find in today’s restaurant industry at any price level. I hope Lola’s Homestyle Filipino Cooking gets the support from the citizens of Pontiac for many years to come. Do yourself a favor and patronize these folks. Well done to the ownership and staff at Lola’s. MEGA-KUDOS!!!

Absolutely love how Lola’s brings the Philippines to America. Delicious food and an artistic atmosphere. Love the open kitchen concept. I’m vegetarian and it’s hard to find a lot to eat locally. Lola’s has something for everyone. P.S. try the Thai Tea.

I’ve grown up eating Filipino foods, and this was my first restaurant experience outside of aunties cooking. I was impressed. Looking forward to trying more dishes.

I always order the popcorn chicken and garlic rice with a side of lumpia. I can never skip the lumpia! The food is cooked fresh, and is delicious! Love this place when I’m in the mood for something different!

A Must-Visit in Pontiac when traveling Route 66!

Stopped in Pontiac and was told by locals that I had to eat at Lola’s—and I’m so glad I listened! I ordered the popcorn chicken with miso ranch and sweet chili sauces—both house-made, and absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly crispy and full of flavor.

For my main, I had the pork shoulder adobo with garlic fried rice. The pork was incredibly tender, and the rice was the perfect savory complement.

To drink, I went with the strawberry boba made with passion tea lemonade—super refreshing! My friend tried the Blue Hawaii (a non-alcoholic drink that tastes like a piña colada) and loved it.

The service was equally impressive. Keylee was an absolute sweetheart, and the entire staff made us feel right at home—friendly, attentive, and welcoming.

Whether you’re passing through or local, Lola’s is a gem you don’t want to miss!

I was staying in Pontiac for a few days for work and stopped in here for dinner twice. The food is unfathomably good and the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. Admittedly I did not expect to find a good Filipino joint in Pontiac Illinois but I am super glad it’s here and will absolutely stop again the next time I roll through town.
