18% charge for an amateur band? The band even had an open mic between sets asked me if I wanted to sing. I was 2nd on the list and she ended up asking all her friends. Won’t be back unless they get legit bands.

we’re lucky to find this place to cater late night snacks for our wedding reception. we ordered trays of their pork and veggie lumpia and turon. they were all a hit and tasted great that there was no leftover. there’s still turon left but it’s probably because everyone was full from our cake. the owner/server are very kind and accommodating to deliver to our venue even if late night. we just need to pay a bit extra which we understand since it’s all the way to la jolla. overall satisfied and great memory for us!

We used to go here for live music and karaoke during night time. They changed ownership and its cafeteria style lunch items now. We love the affordability of their combo meals and lunch specials. Love their Filipino dishes and their staff are very friendly.

The staff is always friendly and the food is really good! We always order trays for family parties from them all the time. We even rented it for my son’s graduation party.

My go-to for all my lechon (ie pig) needs.

My aunt recommended Lola Happy Bakery (former name in National City) about 10 years ago. I have not used any other place but Lola.

Prices had gone up, like everything else in USA. Lola may not be the most inexpensive lechon place, but their name is to be trusted.

I don’t think paying a cover charge for amateur out-of-tune karaoke-level entertainment is worthwhile unless the hostesses sit with you; they don’t.

I will take my dining and beer budget somewhere else.

Everytime I go back home to visit San Diego, I try to make it out to Lola’s to enjoy some Filipino food. The good here never disappoints, as they offer many dishes and options. Their portions are very generous, as you can feed at least two or more people per dish.

Coming to this location for over 40 years. Tonight is my first visit under the new ownership. I have always loved the atmosphere what our restaurant location brings. Our National City crowd has always been fun to enjoy a weekend evening of food and entertainment together. It’s the reason the restos for over 4 decades thrived in this corner of Plaza Blvd. I am confident our hosts will carry on with the tradition of good vibes and filipino hospitality. 3 hour drive to National City arriving 5pm – I am buying the first round of beer for my friends I will be enjoying the evening with. Tonight is going to be alright

Went to the grand opening of this restaurant and ordered the chicken adobo, bitter melon, lechón, and sinigang. The food here is SO delicious, and in my opinion, 10x better than Titas Restaurant which many people know about because of Andrew Zimmern visited the place, but that restaurant has changed a lot in quality and health!! I feel like Lola’s Happy Bistro does a better job with ingredients and quality. The chicken adobo and sinigang wasn’t too greasy, and the lechón was super juicy and crispy. I really loved the taste of the food and reminded me much of home cooking in Philippines. This place is my new go-to place for homestyle Filipino food. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner! Super Sarap!!

my first time here, but my grandma has been many times. my grandma & i came yesterday, wednesday, afternoon & it was not busy at all. customer service was good, and very friendly. unfortunately, the atmosphere was so gloomy upon entering, it was off putting. sad to say that the halo halo gave my grandma & i an upset stomach. not sure how long ago the pre-made mix was put together, but the toppings had a sour/carbonated taste. the way food gets when it’s been fermenting, like kimchi. we both didn’t finish our cups. i will not be recommending this establishment ;(
