I had the pleasure of eating at Lola Betty’s yesterday to catch up with my friend and the food took you into a true Philippines experience. The food is incredibly authentic, packed with flavor and made with love. I had the bbq short rib plate and I only left one piece with a small amount pancit and rice for my husband to try when I got home. All that to say I will be back with family and loved ones. I hope anyone who gets a chance to stop by this cute mom and pop shop will also give themselves the opportunity to try some delicious authentic cuisine. Before we left we said thank you to our new friends and promised we will be back. We got a chance to say thank you to the chefs and all team members for their food, which made the meal more of an at home meal feel.

Very cool little walk up place in Camarillo Old Town. Takes me back to my childhood, it being a walk up and only having the outdoor seating, kind of like a drive up. The people are very very nice and are helpful and serve you with a smile. My daughter loves this place so I had to try it. I had the Chicken Adobo Plate, which is 4 big grilled chicken pieces and rice with the sauce and a small rice dessert…it is SOOO GOOD! If you havent been here yet, you have to go! I highly recommend this place.

We loved the food which was so flavorful and made us want to take a nap afterwards. The portions are so generous so you won’t feel hungry afterwards. We also ordered the lumpia which is missing in the pictures but it was crispy and tasty. This is definitely getting added to my go to spots whenever we are in Camarillo.

Easily the best Filipino food in Camarillo.
After researching I found out it is Made fresh everyday. And the people who own it are very welcoming, I had no problem ordering and feeling like I was with friends.
The food is A+ gold standard. Packed with flavor, full of quality and absolutely delicious.
I would recommend this to anybody in ventura

Stopped by for lunch and was very glad that I did!

I ordered the Lumpia Shanghai and they were hot and fresh! They tasted good and the sauce served on the side finished them off nicely.

Presentation was on point! It was a bit nicer than most take out places and gave it an elevated touch.

For my main, I ordered the BBQ Short Rib Plate. My first impression was that there was a lot of heft to this container. They packed it full! The short rib itself was thinly sliced, bone in and tossed with their BBQ sauce. This made it a little messy, and less pleasurable, to eat. The sauced up meat tasted great, full of flavor and the meat was tender enough. The hands-on affair, fork and knife won’t do it here, was less and less enjoyable as I navigated around the thinly sliced bone in each piece. Also to mention, the fat ratio was pretty high in each piece.
The sauce made it worthwhile, the eating experience makes me not want to try this one again.
The rice was hot n fluffy, and the drippings from the BBQ sauced meat topped the rice which made it that much more enjoyable.
The pancit was a hit! So full of flavors, the thin noodles were easy to eat and kept me wanting to eat another bite.
A small rice cake topped it all off. It was deliciously sweet, but not too sweet, and a perfect end to this dish.

I remember Lola Betty’s from their food truck days and it’s nice to see that they have a permanent home now. It’s mostly a take out only spot, but they do have some outdoor seating options if you’d like to dine there.

This place is take-out only with a few bar stools to sit at the outdoor counter. We ordered the Short Beef Rib and Chicken Adobo dinners with a side of Lumpia. We got our meal within about 10 minutes. The portions were big, the meats were super tender with the meat falling off the bone. With the chicken dinner, the side of garlic rice was very tasty and the noodles complemented the short ribs. We will for sure go back again.

This little walk up Filipino joint is very tasty. We got the short rib combo, which has half rice and half stir fried noodles (pancit). Get the combo with full noodles, the pancit is good, not sure why they don’t call it what it is.

Small food stop place. You walk up the window and order your food. Theres only a few selections in the menu.

Pancit bowl $13
Chicken bbq $16
Beef short rib $17
Chicken adobo $15
Lumpia Shanghai 3 for $5

They serve it in a bowl. They have a couple of tables at the back.
Ive tried the beef short ribs and chicken bbq. I like the short ribs. Im going back to try the adobo. Every order comes with pancit (noodles), rice cake, and white rice.
Beef short ribs is good
I wanted to try their lumpia but they were out. So if you decide to go perhaps go there before 3 or 4pm. They cook their food when you order and it takes awhile. So just be patient.

So excited to have Filipino food in Camarillo! I will be coming back until I have tried everything on the menu. Today I had Chicken adobo, lumpia and the ube cookies. The chicken came with 3 bone in chicken thighs and probably 2 cups of fried rice for $15. (Great deal in this economy). The lumpia and chicken plate were both hot, fresh and full of flavor. The cookies were delicious and soft. Highly commend!

Well, I’ll be damned.
This place saved me a drive to Oxnard for foods.

I was in town for a couple weeks and had been craving Filipino food, but my lazy ass didn’t want to drive to Oxnard after hitting all the bowls. Then I remembered I still hadn’t dropped in here since they opened.
It’s street parking only and there’s always plenty of spots available any given day.
I got the pork bbq skewer meal which came with 2 hefty scoops of rice, 3 skewers, pancit and a puto. Let me tell you something – when I say I ate everything. I should’ve taken an after photo because wow. Even that banana leaf at the bottom got licked clean. Yeah, I said it.
Skewers- fire. Perfectly seasoned and super juicy. I hate dry meat. The dipping sauce they provided paired perfectly. I sure did use all of it. I loved how loaded that pancit was. There was a ton of veggies.
Service was great. I only interacted with the lady working the front who was friendly and nice.
