Well they just opened after St Patrick’s month and I made this as a bucket list since being Filipino myself and only know 2 restaurants up here in Lake county area. So far the other food is good and authentic. The pork on a stick was just the way my dad and mom makes them in picnic or outdoor parties. The menudo was also good or ok. They missed a few ingredients to the menudo but one ingredient liver is ok but did not add to really make it authentic and raisins was not ok to add which I am glad they didn’t do it but supposed to. The chicken curry dish Filipino style was also delicious. The lumpia Shanghai or Filipino egg roll was good too as they gave a 2 long sized generous amount then most family own Filipino restaurants. My friend not Filipino ordered the fried milk fish or bangus (pronounced bang-oos) which she liked. I usually eat bangus for breakfast. It is giving cafeteria style on paper plates for lunch and was a busy place during lunch because of the US Great lakes Navy base and the US Marines base here so military people and some Local Pinoy where in line too. My big disappointment why 4 out of 5 stars was how they cooked Pancit Palabok. They cooked Pancit Behon which is my least favorite Filipino noodle dish and they used Behon noodles in Palabok. Those noodles texture wise is rubbery which belongs in Behon and not in Palabok. Palabok noodles are transparent, little thicker and slippery in texture. They also forgot to add Shrimp in the Pancit which was also disappointing. Also they only sell it as a party tray and could not cook this daily which I am glad they didn’t because it was somewhat not ok. I can’t say th pancit palabok was bad because the other ingredients tasted correct to use accept no shrimp and wrong noodles they used. The party tray was $40 and was more than enough for 2 people. Otherwise avoid ordering Pancit Palabok from here. Everything else was genuine. The leche flan or Filipino version of flan or custard was ok. They missed a few ingredients too using coconut gel in the bottom. I would come back for some of the other dishes they serve for lunch time. Best to come there 10 minutes early before they open because it gets busy. Also you can dine in the restaurant unlike their rival Filipino restaurant Pampanga Express.

This place is great! I’ve been several times and each time their food has been interesting and tasty. The service is always good (I always ask what they like and end up loving it too!). The only downside is that there is sometimes not a ton of seating and when I went last time the tables were piled with various supplies. Still a great place though!

I recently had the most amazing time at Lola Adang’s Kusina, a super chill Filipino restaurant that blew me away. Seriously, from the moment I walked in, I felt all cozy and relaxed. The food was absolutely incredible. The staff was so friendly and attentive. The vibe of the place was just perfect, with cool decor and mellow tunes. If you’re into Filipino food or just want a laid-back dining experience, you gotta check out Lola Adang’s Kusina. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

BEST Filipino food in the Waukegan area. I come here almost every single week with my friends. The ambiance is cozy. You have to call ahead to get a bite of their Pork BBQ otherwise it’ll be all gone by the time you get there!!

Most authentic, fresh, and delicious Filipino home-cooking I’ve found in IL. And all this delicious awesomeness for like $10 and change. Roast pork with liver, chicken adobo, pancit, lumpia, and chicken soup. Reminds me of family. #pamilyakomahalko
