We both got the 10 Oz ribeye. The salad offered with it is a decent size. Mac and cheese and baked beans were smashing.
This was our valentines day meal and we are from starkville. Don’t be discouraged about it not being large scale. The best places are normally the holes in the wall.

My family has eaten here many times. For the most part, the food is good or acceptable. There have been several times we have gone and the half chicken be dry as a bone, or we’ve gone to pick up a to go order and gotten an attitude from staff at the front.
To elaborate on the half chicken, don’t get it at night unless you don’t mind completely soaking it in BBQ sauce.
The restaurant used to not be this way when my family and first started going here.

I will never go back because it was horrible due to bad behavior from an Employee. Horrible.
My family and I went to Rivers Smoke BBQ in Florence and we could not believe our ears. An employee was going off on a customer, calling her names in front of her two children. The customer miss understood her order and receipt. She thought she was supposed to get baked potatoes with her order. She also said the chicken she received was hard. The employee touched the chicken to see if was hard in front of the customer. The baked potatoes should have been chomped and not charged. I couldn’t believe what happened before my eyes. I have never see such bad behavior in a restaurant in my life. I have never seen an employee go on about a customer. I I’ve never seen an employee of a restaurant cussing at a customer. It was horrible, horrible and everybody in the restaurant was uncomfortable because of what this employee did. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back. It was so so bad. That employee needs to be retrained. It wasn’t the waiters.

So… tonight my boyfriend and I decided to grab food on our way home (we had the dog with us, so we couldn’t sit in and eat). While trying to decide on something other than junk food between Richland and Florence, we decided on Smoke house of Florence. I’ve never eaten there and had a little BBQ craving, he said he’d eaten there before about 2 years ago and the steak was good. So, Smoke house it was. I called in the order, filet (medium) with a loaded baked potato, side salad with no cheese and a Ribeye (medium) with the same sides (cheese on the salad). When we got home and I opened everything up to plate it, there was a plate with a loaded sweet potato and both salads had cheese (premade salads). Not the end of the world. We both like sweet potatoes and I could pick most of the cheese off my salad. I cut into my filet, rare/medium rare, absolutely NO FLAVOR, tasted like it had been thawed in water, boiled and then thrown on a grill for 2-3 minutes. It was grey y’all, the steak was grey! My BFs extra thin ribeye had burnt edges and was well done, had to cut it with a serrated knife and chewed like leather, while ALSO tasting of water. He opted for the sweet potato and I took the baked potato. My potato had 2-3 rotten spots on the inside that would have been visible when whoever cut it open to dress it would have seen. $66! $66 for a burnt water flavored ribeye, an undercooked water flavored filet and a rotten potato. Make your own decisions on where to eat, but I will never grace that establishment again.

Yummy food. The people are friendly. I had an issue with my meal and they resolved it quickly. Didn’t go above and beyond… but they made it right and that’s all I ask. Not a fan of the fried green tomatoes.

The staff is very friendly and the food is awesome. The owner is a very nice lady.
They have a very good steak. They also have fried catfish, pulled pork plates, pulled pork sandwiches which are very good as well.
The BBQ sauce doesn’t come from a can or a supermarket, its all locally made and it’s excellent!

Had a call in order today. I had the Florence burger. The burger itself went indubitably hard (that’s a good thing). The loaded potatoes went just as hard. I loved the entire meal. The service was great, the staff was very kind. I would recommend. They should have a bigger, better location.

Better country fried steak than Cracker Barrel by a long shot. Wife loved the catfish. Fries would have been better hotter, but they were real busy so no real complaint there. Friendly staff, nice cozy dining… They even have a drive thru… Prices good too
