I threw my Dad’s 80th birthday here and it was SO MUCH FUN! We rented the bar and the outdoor patio which was great because guests could be inside or outside, playing pool, sitting at tables, etc. It is tough to find a location that can accommodate quiet conversations while still having enough room to gather everyone to dance or make a toast. The bar provided all the alcohol (we pre-paid an estimated amount and then they checked with me during the party to see if we wanted to add on to that). The bartenders were super easy going and really helpful. We hired a taco caterer which was affordable and delicious (about $15 per person) and had a band. Sue was great to work with and helped me with referrals and recommendations. This was exactly the relaxed and fun local vibe my Dad wanted.

A really unique spot! The cider and scotch were both great, and the bartender was super friendly, sharing stories about the different drinks they offer. It felt like a true local hangout—everyone seemed to be from around San Anselmo, while we were the only ones from Larkspur. Most people came to play darts and pool, and you could tell there were plenty of regulars, some even bringing their own gear. Finding the entrance was a bit tricky at first—we accidentally walked into a room with chairs, but the actual bar is downstairs. Once inside, it felt like stepping into a movie scene. Huge thanks for keeping it so authentic! (They have a lot of different board games and a music machine.)

Wow, the janitorial staff member on duty picked a fight with an unhoused member of the Community
He stole the bedroll of a disabled 62 year old heart attack victim and locked it in a beer soaked dumpster for two hours while the elderly disabled man cried, visibly upset that his only belongings were stolen.
The homeless person was forced to call 911 and have the Central Marin police commander threaten the janitor with arrest and deportation if the stolen items were not immediately returned.
The janitor then dumped a load of wet trash on the bedroll, soaking it with warm stale beer.

Great neighborhood bar. The locals are friendly and down-to-earth. Spencer the bartender’s an engaging host, there’s a big outdoor space next to the creek, a pool table and a shuffleboard game inside. Sometimes live music and/or other entertainment or amusement is happening for your pleasure. Check it out, bring your dog!

5 Stars for great, inexpensive drinks. No food served here unless you count popcorn as a food. Classic stop fore for 25 plus years. Friday’s rock after 9. Not for everyone, fancy is NOT a word that can be applied to the Cabin. But fun and dive bar are perfect ways to describe it!

Classic old-school veterans bar.
Very welcoming, one of the few veterans bars in the United States that accept visits from the public
Worthwhile to seek out. Especially if the traffic is backed up
