My wife and I really enjoyed our experience this evening. The drinks were delicious and the appetizer (oysters Rockefeller)were so fabulous that we ordered a second batch. She had the fish and chips and I had the fish tacos. Of course we shared and we were both very impressed with our meals. I really can’t wait to return to try some of the other dishes that they prepare. Definitely a great place for your next meal.

Have visited Lockside Bar and Grill several times over the years. Great ambiance and just an overall cool place, especially if the weather is beautiful outside. The outside seating is where it’s at!!

Exceptional food. I’ve had the salmon, fried flounder, shrimp and grits and Osso bucco (new on their menu) and have tried a bunch of their crushes and cocktails. The creamsicle crush and the Lockside lemonade is fantastic! So delicious and made perfect!

The atmosphere and music vibes are on point. I’ve come here alone after running errands in the Chesapeake/Battlefield blvd area and I love sitting outside alone and looking out into the calming water! The servers never rush me out, thank you for that!

Will come back to try even more items from the menu. Thanks Lockside! Yummy yum yum

Dockside was an absolute gem. We sat outside along the locks waterway at one of their glider tables, which made the whole experience even better. It was sunny, warm, and just a perfect day to be by the water.

Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and genuinely great the entire time. The combination of good service, a relaxing outdoor setup, and that peaceful waterfront view made this a standout visit.

Highly recommend—can’t wait to come back.

The food and the outdoor view were great. Started out trying the Oyster Rock appetizer. First time trying this and for sure will order it again. We then followed up with the French Quarter Pasta and the Seared Sea Scallops for our meals. Not only was the food great… there was so much on the plate that we got to enjoy the leftovers again the next day. I definitely would recommend giving Lockside a try. The only negative was the service, but sometimes, service is the luck of the draw.

Upon entering, my family and I were greeted and seated immediately. The main reason for coming to this restaurant was we read it was pet friendly. We brought 2 of our little dogs and were seated on the outside deck on the swinging table. It had a nice view of the water and the atmosphere was good. Our server was very nice and fast. She also put out a water bowl for the dogs. The food came out quick, and refills were always spot on. The food tasted good and also ordered dessert as well. We really liked the creme brule. We would definitely come back and need to try their breakfast as well.

The dock-master sent us there on a boat delivery. Stopped in for dinner. Tried the thai shrimp appetizer and the scallops rockafeller. Friendly service and the food was good. Worth a try. A short walk over the bridge from Atlantic Marine Basin.

My first time here and I like this place.
Coleslaw…good.
Meatloaf…good
Mashed potatoes…good
Gravy…..okay
Fried Shrimp….good
Fries…good

We sat on the patio and it was nice with the weather. Will be back.

Downside…Gravy was not homemade. They should use Pioneer Gravy if they are not going to make it and it should always glue given warm.

Exceptional flounder and one of the best corn and crab chowder bowls I have ever had! Service was fantastic and very attentive and polite! Highly recommend for seafood when you are in Chesapeake. Great view of the canal from the dockside dining area. Fun to see fish jump from the water!

Beautiful atmosphere with nature surrounding. I enjoyed my meal. My eggs were made exactly how I like them. My French toast was better than I expected. The homefries were not what I expected as far as looks but they were actually a bite to enjoy. The drink was a good match. I will definitely be back to try more menu options.

Weekday brunch service here is an absolute joke, and it comes down to two things: laziness and attitude. Weekend service proves this place can operate normally (Emily was great both times), which only makes the weekday staff’s behavior more pathetic. Last week, the blonde server working bar and tables was completely useless. She served the wrong bread, vanished immediately after dropping off food, and didn’t bother checking back until we were basically finished eating and already late returning to work. No apology, no urgency, no awareness — just careless and checked out.
Today was just as bad. The brunette with long brown hair was flat-out nasty. Every single request was met with irritation, attitude, and the unmistakable vibe that customers are an inconvenience. Eye rolls, annoyance, zero follow-up. If you wanted a refill, you were better off standing up and getting it yourself because she clearly couldn’t be bothered. Calling this place “family-friendly” is laughable. During the day, staff are loud, obnoxious, drinking at the bar at 2pm, and using inappropriate language and conversations within earshot of guests. It feels less like a restaurant and more like employees hanging out while customers interrupt them. Management’s lack of involvement makes it obvious they either don’t notice or don’t care. Meanwhile, nighttime service out back is consistently good thanks to the Jesse and the shorter girl— which proves this isn’t a training issue, it’s a daytime staff problem that management refuses to fix. The food is good and reasonably priced, which is the only reason this review isn’t shorter. Eating out is a luxury, not a charity. Tips are earned, not automatic, and they certainly aren’t deserved when servers are rude, inattentive, and more focused on chatting than doing their jobs. If customer service feels like too much effort, this industry clearly isn’t for you. We won’t be back — and honestly, weekday diners shouldn’t bother either.
