We had such a fantastic experience at Lock and Dam Eatery! We reserved one of their igloos and it made the evening feel extra special — cozy, fun, and perfect for a night out.
The drinks were amazing. The martinis were perfectly made, and the local beer selection was great. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The Gringo Nachos and walleye bites were incredible starters. For dinner, we had two Tuscan Salmons, the Tuscan Chicken, and the Chicken Marsala — every single dish was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and beautifully presented.
Jake was our server, and he truly made the night exceptional. He was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without ever being intrusive. The food, service, drinks — everything was outstanding.
Highly recommend dining here, especially in one of the igloos. We will definitely be back!

Decided to try this place while on our way thru town and they did not disappoint! First off, the service was TOP NOTCH. Some of the kindest and most helpful employees I have come across. Now the food, I mean, look at that adorable wagon with the cheese curds in it! So cute!! Delicious curds and dip choices too. We shared a plate of Alfredo with homemade sauce and garlic breadstick, both were phenomenal. We both wished we had room for more food!

The restaurant is pretty nice besides the bathroom being shut down and having to use a porta potty outside (there is water coming out under the bathroom door). We were sat down, waitress was nice. My 8 year old son and I ordered the “Bag of Seafood” to share. When we received the food it was so spicy it was inedible. So we just asked for a different entree (not to take it off our bill). The manager refused and gave us marinara sauce to tone it down instead…. She clearly hates her job. Not coming back sadly…

We went here for a winter date night, and loved the igloos on the patio. It was a much more private and intimate feeling meal, having our own separate area on the patio, and it felt almost magical being “outdoors” with snow and Christmas lights around us, while still being inside and warm at a table. Michael, our waiter, was tremendous, he gave great recommendations, was super helpful with questions, and offered to take photos of us with the decorated igloo, and outside it with the lights of the bridge in the background.
Our food was great, as always. The special that night, the Halibut, was wonderful. The roasted beet salad (add carne asada) might be my wife’s favorite meal in the entire town, and the chocolate cake we had for dessert was truly delicious and the perfect finale to a great meal.

Such a great stop! I rarely give out perfect scores, but this joint DESERVES it. Those Italian Nachos? It’s been 6 weeks since I’ve had them, and they still make me . I’ve never had anything like them. The beet was also solid and so was the fettuccine. Great, friendly service, too! And good cocktails (that I failed to take notes on.) Come here and be happy!

Planned an igloo dinner here and I 100% recommend it. The igloo had two heaters so we were warm the cozy! Our server was friendly and great! We had the steak, salmon, cracked shrimp and the Italian nachos. Every dish came out warm and delicious.

We will be back!

We had an amazing igloo dining experience. Our waitress Amanda was very attentive to us and gave good recommendations. We had the jumbo shrimp appetizer that was really good! Then we had the Marsala Chicken and Carne Asada Street Tacos. Both were amazing but I was huge fan of both the salsas that was served with the street tacos! After dinner we had their tiramisu which was perfect! My favorite drink of the night was the Almond Joy.

My experience here was solidly “okay”. They have a mix of American, Italian and Mexican food options, so it’s a good something-for-everyone option. We tried the gringos nachos that come in a can, which grants it bonus points for unique presentation in my book. The flavor was good, but it would have been even better with shredded chicken and not cubed. I ordered the damn wrap, which was a bit basic and the chicken was overcooked and tough. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t something I’d likely order again.

The inside of the building feels a little cramped, but thats pretty standard for older downtown buildings. The patio was nice, but with it being right next to the bridge, it could get noisy at times. Also, not all tables had umbrellas covering them–that or they only partially covered the table, which meant we had to move when it started sprinkling.

The server was friendly, and they had a decent variety of drinks. I didn’t have a bad enough experience to not want to go back, but it maybe wouldn’t be my first choice.

I took my young son to eat in the igloo. They have tables outside in individual plastic igloos 4 tables with each one able to sit 6. Anyway for two meals , they don’t have a kids menu, they require reservation and according to website it’s a $100 fee that must be spent including the $25 reservation fee or maintenance fee, $30 deposit that is credited back to your meal total, a 20% gratuity that is actually added up at the final bill for the whole thing so you’re paying per Dr. tutti also on your your maintenance fee and your gift card, Then whatever leftover supposed to go on a gift card for you to take home. And that’s for the lunch hour reservation. I was told that on the phone and they squeezed me in so I didn’t actually have to make a reservation. However, I was charged $150 which is the night required fee.

So two people no kids menu kind you at lunch should cost at a restaurant $30 -40 right? This was not that kinda reservation. Just the matience fee and gratuity alone was 50 bucks! I took home a 35 gift card and one leftover meal.

The service was decent not really great though didn’t remember what we ordered and had to check in twice, I was charged 1.25 for sour cream I never saw, I order a coffee drink that was $10 and it was awful the worst I have ever tried typically good waiters wood have noticed and replaced he didn’t offer another drink or say a thing about drinks after having to ask for lemons for my water three times.
Food was mediocre nothing spectacular or certainly nothing close to the outrageous prices! a plate of mushroom ravioli (which was a special that day but apparently ran out last night) so I opted in ordering enchiladas im a vegetarian and they have about two menu options that are not good eating in my mind tried before and couldn’t eat either one. So I ordered enchiladas rice and beans, they were sad looking my plate had a lot of space open on it small amount of lettuce and salsa it was not good the corn tortillas were not fully cooked and almost too difficult to chew through. My son had a chicken stir fry and he bite into BONE on his first bite he took the rest home and actually wouldn’t eat it because of the bone found .

So I paid 25 to heat up igloo for us to still be cold in , a tip calculated after every other listed item for 6 people not two at $25 , a 35 dollar gift card i won’t even gift to someone to this place, and that leaves our actual meal that day totaled to about 70 dollars

We live in Hastings and whoever you think can afford this crap is ridiculous. Ya try to compete with local business maybe try appealing to clients customers through better food and realistic prices
