As far as the food quality goes, it was good. Our favorites were the croque madame and the churro French toast. Frittata was the least favorite and probably wouldn’t order it again. The frittata did not have much flavor, yet the salad that came with it was extremely salty. The tartine was also just okay. Nutella crêpe was good, but I’ve had better. In conclusion, I am definitely not rushing to come back.
John our waiter was very polite, kind and give us the best experience. The food is delicious and the price is affordable.
I really recommend this place and for sure I will go back.
Service was excellent and entire flow was well done.
Front room décor is a little bland for my taste; could use some “sprucing”. Minor detail thing overall.
Lock 50 has always had the best fried chicken in the city. That is no longer the case sadly. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with greens instead of the gluten free bun (this is new), and was presented with this poorly seasoned chicken thigh and a bunch of random toppings that do not go well together. The hot sauce is not spicy. It tasted like a tomatillo salsa that’s been pureed smooth with no vinegar or salt or flavor unfortunately. Cream cheese?
My husband had the croque madam and said it was okay, not as good as it once was. Too much bechamel.
The waitress said they have hot and iced coffee and I ordered iced coffee. It was a tall glass of crushed ice with completely watered down coffee in it. Sent it back but paid for it.
Please do better. Food costs are high and people spend more to go out and support local restaurants. This was disappointing and we feel like the passion is gone.
While the staff is very nice the service is extremely slow. We waited for 40 minutes for our food and we didn’t order all that much or anything complicated. We ordered Mac and Cheese for my daughter from the kids menu and besides the fact that she had to wait 40 minutes for her food it was not kid Friendly at all. The noodles were very tough and had hardly any sauce on it, let alone any cheese. Most of the food was cold and seemed like it had been sitting around for a but before they served it. The mushroom crepe was dry and tasteless. The frittata was basically scrambled eggs that had no seasoning at all. The yogurt with fruit was fine and the fruit were fresh. The only good part of our order was the salad which was the only seasoned food we got. The menu was also modified and hardly had any of the items listed on the menu online. I have no idea why the food took so long to come out and it wasn’t just our table that had to wait for a very long time to receive the food. I do not recommend this place unless you’re willing to wait a long time for subpar food.
