Lock 19 is an absolute must-stop when visiting Nauvoo or the surrounding area!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with small-town charm and hospitality—regulars welcomed us like old friends and couldn’t stop raving about the milkshakes (made with real ice cream!). They even joked we should start with dessert, but we went the savory route first—and wow, are we glad we did.
We ordered a classic cheeseburger loaded fries and The Dam Loaded Fries—and OH. MY. WORD. The flavors were off the charts! The burgers were cooked to perfection with those crispy edges that burger dreams are made of, and the sauces? Totally unique and absolutely delicious—like nothing we’ve had before.
The portions were so generous, we didn’t have room for the famous milkshakes… which just gives us the perfect excuse to come back!
Great food, welcoming people, and a place that feels like home. Don’t miss it.

Stopped in here tonight and so glad we did! The employees were so kind and patient with our whole family ordering.
We ended up ordering several of the loaded Hot Damn fries and a Dam hamburger and they were out of this world delicious. The meat is tender and juicy and the sauces were spot on. Half way through the meal the kids were asking if we could come back tomorrow night for dinner.

My family votes this place the best food in town. They have a good variety of options. Their fry sauce is the best. My wife loves their shakes. They can get very busy and it might take a minute to get a table. It’s worth the wait

What a great place to go for lunch. I enjoyed the Dam burger. I didn’t dare set it down, once I started it was a handful to keep together, I didn’t want to set it down either. Full of flavor with garlic, cheese, lettuce and the works on It. Very nice place to cool down from the hot day.

Lock 19 was great to work with. We did a take out order for 57 people and they were communicative the whole time. The food was delicious, just a little different than I expected! I thought the hamburgers and sandwiches would be assembled but just the fixings on the side, but it ended up all being disassembled. So it took longer to eat than I was expecting. Then the loaded fries had shredded cheese with it instead of warm cheese that is at least traditional where I’m from. Overall it was a good experience though! I would recommend them for a catering event again, I would advise you get the details on how it’ll come.

Good burger. But messy but had a good flavor and it was all there. Fries were tasty had a fun spice coating. Brownie was nice. A bit fudgey with a little salt.

Food was fantastic and fresh! Their service was fabulous as they accommodated our family right before they were about to close and had no issues at all with our dietary restrictions! Wish we could have gone back, but we were only in town for one day.

Lock 19 is such an amazing addition to Nauvoo! I had a smash burger and my husband has a fish sandwich and both were delicious! We loved the atmosphere and the staff was super friendly. It was also really cool to see the histori photos of the lock & dam being built!

Lock 19 is such an awesome restaurant! It’s so nice to finally have a couple of quick dining options here in Nauvoo. The burgers and fries are amazing, and the fried hotdogs—who would have thought! Highly recommend this place for a delicious and speedy meal.
