Had a great experience at Local’s Raw Bar! The oysters on the half shell were super fresh, and the roasted oysters were delicious. We also loved the bone marrow and the hamachi and crab roll—everything was full of flavor.
Our server, Salix, was wonderful and made the meal even better.

Terrific addition to Beaufort’s tired old restaurant scene with the added bonus of being on Lady’s Island. The buttery lobster roll (minus the Bay seasoning!) was off-the-charts delicious as was the hamachi and crab sushi. The black garlic octopus didn’t quite work presentation-wise but hats off to the chef for trying. Living in London and visiting my parents often, I’m looking forward to seeing what other creative dishes will pop up on the menu. Would love to see some different ceviches and an extraordinary fish taco since there is such an emphasis on fresh fish.

Some nights just hit differently—and our dinner at Local Raw Bar was one of them.
I brought my daughter Nicole here for a father–daughter date night, and from the moment we sat down, it felt special. Warm, intimate energy. A room that hums without being loud. Confident, polished service that lets the food do the talking—but is there exactly when you need it.
Let’s talk about that food.
The ramen was, without hesitation, the best ramen I’ve had outside of Japan. Deep, soulful broth. Perfectly cooked noodles with real bite. NY strip that was tender and rich without overpowering the bowl. Kimchi, aromatics, and that soy egg with the just-set yolk—it was balanced, layered, and deeply satisfying. Not a “Southern take” on ramen. The real deal.
The sushi was equally impressive—clean, precise, and beautifully composed. Fresh fish, thoughtful flavor pairings, and rice that actually matters (a detail too many places miss). Every roll we tried was intentional and crave-worthy.
The other dishes on the table? Absolute standouts. From rich, comforting plates to refined, playful bites, everything showed confidence and restraint. No fluff. No shortcuts. Just excellent execution.
Service was dialed in—professional, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They made Carolina feel special without making it feel forced, which matters more than most people realize.
The X-Factor: Watching my daughter light up over great food, sharing dishes, talking, laughing—Local Raw Bar created the kind of night you don’t forget. That’s what great restaurants do. They become part of the memory.

Amazing! Had a gift certificate so had to try several things. Got some fried pickles. They are the most amazing I’ve had. So good I’m going again tonight for some more and maybe some other food as well. Got another appetizer roll and it was real good. Like a hot-wing inside… real good. Got the lobster roll and it was good the fries were good as well. Got a bowel with shrimp that was amazing. Think it was the fusion bowl. Had leftovers and they were good as well. As far as a drink, I tried the bread and butter; strait up alcohol. It was spicy and good. A strong drink for sure.

The small sign that caught my eye should be replaced with a massive red flashing arrow to grab more attention. This place is a true hidden gem. Everything that came out was perfectly prepared, plated, presented, and taste phenomenal. I had a dozen raw oysters, which where shocked to order and very fresh. My main dish was Mutton Snapper which I could have eaten 2!!!! And dessert was homemade banana pudding which was a perfect ending to an absolutely delicious meal. Can’t wait to return with my family next time.

OMG where do I start. This restaurant truly lives up to its name. We had the sushi and fresh wasabi, simply wonderful. The pancake cabbage is out of this world. So many flavor explosions happening. Finished the meal off with melt in your mouth bread pudding. Nothing less than AMAZING.
Let’s not leave out the Chef and his staff. Everyone is friendly and willing to educate you on all the food. Everything is locally grown.

Best seafood / overall dinner food and experience in the Beaufort area. We meant to take more pictures but quickly were blown away by how good the food was and forgot. We were so lucky we found this place on our visit from Charleston. The chef is a true culinary master who cares about delivering high quality, fresh, delicious meals to his customers while also making sure they enjoy their experience. You can tell he loves his customers and loves his job and he’s good at it. We need him up in Charleston!! Service was on point, kitchen was organized, drinks were good, atmosphere was awesome. If you’re wondering whether to try it or not, listen to me – GO NOW! You won’t regret it.
