Tried Locally Sauced and honestly left pretty disappointed.
The place is doing this Mexican BBQ fusion thing, which sounded interesting, but the food just didn’t land. Almost everything was incredibly sweet. The BBQ sauce tasted like straight liquid candy, and even the slaw was sweet. After a few bites the whole meal just felt kind of cloying.
The prices also didn’t match what you actually get. Around $30 for a brisket plate and it was basically four strips of brisket. Portions felt really small for the cost. On top of that, sauces cost extra, which felt a little ridiculous given the price point.
Another thing that stood out: the “chips” were literally just Tostitos out of a bag. Not even house-made tortilla chips. For a place trying to have this unique, elevated vibe, that felt pretty lazy.
I ordered a brisket burrito and it came out open-faced instead of wrapped like a burrito, which was confusing and messy to eat.
Service itself was fine — nothing bad to say there — but the overall vibe of the place was kind of strange. It felt very “aggressively millennial,” like it was trying really hard to be quirky and different instead of just focusing on making good food.
Overall it just wasn’t a great experience. Overly sweet food, small portions for the price, and a concept that feels like it’s trying too hard.
Mac and cheese was awful. Like straight up terrible. Like cracking an entire grinder worth of black pepper into it.

Brisket burrito was good.
We ate outside (which was nice) because inside was loud.
The brisket burrito comes with chips and homemade salsa. The chips were too salty.
We arrived around 6:30pm on a Wednesday. The restaurant was out of pulled pork and brisket platters and hot cider.

We discovered Locally Sauced this weekend. It caught our eye since it looked really fun and inviting and had some awesome outdoor seating. We decided to check it out and had a great experience! We’ll definitely be back! The outdoor seating was amazing! It was breezy, bright, super clean, and tranquil. Now, if only summer could last just a little longer so we could have more days like this! The menu was great, too. We tried some tacos with different house-made sauces (warning – the mango habañero is HOT! ), and the mac and cheese which was also pretty good. The ingredients were super fresh and the flavors were on point Our server, Jenn, was super friendly and made our experience that much better. Two thumbs up! Hoping you guys thrive in your new location!

Tucked away in somewhat of an office park, I was pleasantly surprised by the offerings, and a bonus ‘taco Tuesday.’ The in-house smoked meats and homemade sauces came recommended, so we had some of the fusion-y tacos including brisket, chicken fajita taco and carnitas. Good ingredients and good smoked meats. Also excellent and generous portion of chips and salsa at the start. Even though they had a sign saying they were understaffed, they were still very attentive, and I was extremely thankful that after absentmindedly walking out without the burrito I ordered to go, the waitress, ran out after me and came to my car to make sure I got it. I tend to be skeptical of Mexican north of Portland(still being geographically generous),but for what it is, where it is, I recommend!

My wife and I are frequent travelers to Maine and must have driven past this hidden gem a dozen times never knowing it was there. Our loss. However on this trip, the stars aligned and it came up at the top our our search while “googling” in the parking lot of a nearby gas station. I had the brisket burger and shattered potatoes and my wife had tacos. I can say without reservation that my burger was the best burger that I have ever had in the State of Maine and I would be hard pressed to recall every having a better burger anywhere. My wife absolutely loved her tacos and we both enjoyed the shattered potatoes, there were more than enough on my plate to share. We both left full and happy and looking forward to our next visit. We didn’t catch our servers name, but she was very nice and checked in with us several times to make sure we were enjoying our lunch.

Came in hopeful and hungry, left disappointed and hungry. When we were told they didn’t have fish, we should have ran, this is Maine for crying out loud. Chips and guac was $11 for a barely half an avocado with lime juice and half a bag of rounded Tostitos chips. Chicken taco was so bland, “Korean” taco was just kimchi and mushy compacted rice with poorly cooked meat, and the pulled pork taco, well, how do you even manage to serve tough, not-even-pulled-pork? Nearly $85 dollars before tip for the worst Tex-Mex/ BBQ meal I’ve ever had is criminal, don’t waste your time or money.

What great energy this place had for being located in a a somewhat quite commercial/medical park. The vibe and music was great, the service was engaging and fun and the food & drinks were packed with flavor. With so many bland places doing the same old thing not taking chances, these guys do high kick with seasoning and flavor combos. Its seemed to be a combo bbq meets Mexican place with sassy creative fresh drinks to match. I’m an instant fan of this place and would probably frequent this place more if we were closer. Standouts were the margaritas, queso, brisket (super tender) and beef tacos. Very good place.

I was in the area for a doctor’s appointment and knew immediately Locally sauced was where I wanted my fiancée and I to stop and have lunch. I was drawn here for some reason and I am SO glad. The food was awesome! I had the brisket burrito bowl and it was very filling. The meat was perfect, the bbq sauce was chef’s kiss and I was stuffed by the end. And his pulled chicken sandwich and shattered potatoes were to die for. We will definitely be back! Aimee was amazing! I loved the atmosphere ad well. Come to Lincoln or Bangor please 😉 😉

Great food and drinks at fair prices! The house made sauces are amazing as you might guess from the name of the joint. Carolina is my fave. And the staff is super friendly. Can’t think of his name, but one of the young cooks – he has red hair – came out to ask us how everything was and suggested sauce combinations to us the last time I was there. Definitely recommend!
