My sister-in-law suggested we celebrate her daughter’s 3rd birthday here with a simple dinner. I arrived first and thought we had a reservation, but I later found out we didn’t—and we were a large group. Since the place is small, I honestly thought they wouldn’t be able to accommodate us, but they did.
Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and we were able to enjoy a simple yet special dinner. We even brought a cake so our little one could blow out her candles, and they didn’t mind at all. The food was amazing—I didn’t even get a chance to take photos because everything was eaten so quickly!
Overall, our experience was very memorable. We would definitely come back.

Restaurant Review: Locali Restaurant, New Canaan
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Locali Restaurant in New Canaan, and it was a truly delightful experience. The menu offers a fantastic selection of dishes, and everything I tried exceeded expectations.
One standout appetizer was the Hot Honey Whipped Ricotta—a perfect balance of creamy, sweet, and spicy flavors that was both innovative and delicious. The Goat Pizza was also fantastic, featuring fresh ingredients and a perfectly baked crust.
The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Famous Locali Clam Pizza—by far the best pizza I’ve had in a very very long time. Crispy, flavorful, and expertly crafted, it’s a must-try for pizza lovers. I grew up in Brooklyn and have had pizza literally all over the world. This is the real deal.
For the main course, I ordered the Crispy Chicken Milanese, which was simply amazing. The chicken was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection with a satisfying crispy crust.
Locali Restaurant offers a memorable dining experience with top-notch dishes and a welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone in the area looking for exceptional food and great service.

Took a drive up here last Sunday to visit the town and stopped by this restaurant for lunch and we were served so quickly, the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about all the food options even gave us recommendations for this chicken pizza and their mocktails are insane. This is a must go to anyone visiting New Canaan CT, their portions and pizza are to die for!!!!

While the others at my table enjoyed their pizzas, my Margherita pizza was burnt on the bottom. To be honest, I would have preferred to send it back and get a new one, but I didn’t want to spoil the atmosphere of our gathering. It was disappointing, as I expected better quality. Hopefully, this was just a one-time mistake.

Had lunch there today and it was really good. The calamari is delicious but our pizzas and salad came out 30 minutes after the 1st 2 pizzas came out. Half the people were done eating before our food came out. The meat balls were great and brussel sprouts were delicious.

During my visit at Locali, I ordered the famous clam pizza, which had a great flavor and overall taste but was way too rich and creamy for my liking. It was almost like a soup in the middle of the pizza, kind of like Alfredo sauce. The clams were great though and I liked the pizza dough. In addition, the waitress had given my pizza to a different table so I had to wait a bit for it to come. It ended up being free, so that made up for it. Overall the experience was good and all the other food items were great.

I’m not sure I got the full ‘Locali’ experience as I went there with a group of people after a baptism. We were scattered inside and out with lots of little kids so this distracted from the experience certainly. I also believe the appetizers ordered were not something I would have ordered nor was the pizza toppings something I would have ordered.
I also did not get a look at the menu so I don’t know what they offer. That said, I wasn’t crazy about the food. But again it may have just been some of the unusual items ordered. The staff bent over backwards to make everyone feel welcome as was extremely attentive. The outdoor patio is pleasant to dine on. All in all, not a bad place. Give it a try and see what you think.

Great place to get a fresh wood-fired pizza! The flavors of fresh ingredients are prevalent in the food. The crust is charred to perfection in a wood burning stove. An intimate atmosphere with good service both at that table and at the bar. Cocktails are very good. I recommend this place to anyone who wishes to taste authentic “Neapolitan” pizza!

The pizza was absolutely delicious. A slight crunch on the bottom and a little char on the crust with perfect fresh mozzarella. The hostess/waitress was lovely and my pizza was out so fast! Inside feels a bit cramped, but overall a great experience.
