My husband and I like to stop here for a bite to eat and drinks. The place is always packed, but we’re served quickly and surfaces are kept clean. We like to share the Suzie Wong Egg Roll basket to start, I usually get a salad, which are fantastic for Pub dining, my husband likes the big, meaty burgers. The fries are not bad, not great. I had a couple of glasses of Pinot Grigio, but my husband’s Hazy IPA took 2 tries to get a brand that wasn’t sold out. Love their selection of interesting cocktails. Overall a reliable place to get a bite to eat and drinks. We like the vibe and street side seating, to watch the vibrant State College community out and about

Love the overall atmosphere. We had a table right by the open windows and got to watch people go by along Beaver Ave. Love the open feel and general “dive” atmosphere without actually being a dive. Nice to get the experience while also feeling comfortable bringing kids along.

The name is deceiving, it’s not a whiskey bar. Great selection of drinks and beers. Beer prices are great too. The food was absolutely excellent. Shared a burger and cheesesteak with my daughter and they were top notch. The fries are super fresh and crispy. We will definitely return here for dinner. Servers were very friendly and attentive.

Everything was adequate. Wasn’t terrible, wasn’t awesome. The steak on the salad was cooked perfectly however the portion was small. Booth seating is not the best if you are shorter than 6 foot. Great whiskey selection and the food came out quickly. Great place if you want something quick that’s not a chain or plain pub food.

Heard about Local Whiskey from a few people in different circles so I decided to try it. Tried going with my kids for lunch one day but it didn’t work out as there were no tables available for us to dine. I went back the next day with my wife and we managed to find a table. Solid atmosphere. Waitress was very nice but wasn’t as attentive as I would’ve hoped. However It was also quite busy in there for the lunch hour. She didn’t mention the lunch special at all until I asked about it, but I had already ordered the appetizers which included a large amount of fries. I Didn’t want to order a lunch special with even more fries.

In the heart of state college. Great Vibe. Great cocktails and drafts. Great music. Good food. Well worth the visit. Favorites are the trout sandwich, grilled cheese, fried chicken sandwich. Haven’t tried the cheesesteak yet- but then I’m from Philly.

I love this place. I’m not from Philly, but I love their cheesesteak sandwiches. Big, good meat. Great taste. Very generous with the fries also. Nice selection of beers, with many local options. I go here most every time I visit my kid.

HIDDEN 3% CHARGE for credit card 4 of us, Food generally good, server was clearly new and not great. I Ordered Hamburg special (burger fries coke) no cheese. Hamburg was good, fries were warm and soggy (unusual fries here are normally very good), diet pepsi was flat and undrinkable. (asked for replacement – “we are out of diet”). bill was a shock, no hamburger special price, and billed for soda. told server. she removed soda (because it was no good) but said I could not have special price because no changes allowed. (I asked for no cheese) so $11.50 instead of $6.5. strange. I would have asked to talk to management except was with out of town friends. after I got home, NOTICED the 3% fee on bill and looked up the special, it was a hamburger special not a cheeseburger. Incompetent server or????
