Local sports bar with plenty of options. We’ve walked by here plenty of times on the way back from the gym and wanted to try the brick oven pizza. We saw the wing options and opted to get a large cheese pizza and two flavors of wings.
First off, the pizza. This has to be the the thinnest pizza imaginable. It was to the point the bottom was flaking off from the char. The cheese used is okay, not the greatest. I will say I enjoyed the pizza sauce. It’s fine, but there are better spots close by.
The wings. We got BBQ and Caribbean Jerk. The BBQ and blue cheese ranch were good! Would eat those again. The Caribbean jerk were just overloaded the Jamaica pepper and alright. I honestly would come here for the BBQ wings again.
As for the service it’s a casual relaxing environment with TVs everywhere as it’s a sports bar. The bathroom is clean. I wish they changed the carpet though .

First time here. Service and food was good. Wings were really nice in size. My husband enjoyed his dinner. Prices especially for being in Massachusetts were really good. I also got a salad and he got jalapeño poppers.And he got a beer. All for only $59

Looked like a nice local spot inside, but I got there after 10pm- kitchen had already closed. Multiple tables and pub booths, as well as the bar too. I do not drink, but this seemed like a “not the large bar” nice spot. Tucked away, but easy to find.

This week Team Blue stopped in to Local 438 for some pizza and drinks. We heard great things about the pizza so we had to try it. It definitely lived up to the hype! We got a traditional cheese pizza and it was delicious. The service was wonderful. Our waitress, Debbie, was so attentive and even told us where the name “438” came from. Local 438 has outdoor seating and a great environment inside the restaurant as well. Team Blue will definitely be back to Local 438!

I would call this Buffalo Mac & Cheese. They call it Buffalo Blue Chicken Mac & Cheese (12.95 13.95 on the menu). “5 cheese blend with elbow pasta topped with buffalo chicken tenders, Ritz DoritosCheetos crumbs. Topped with bleu cheese crumbles”. There was a generous amount of crispy buffalo chicken hanging around that was still moist. I mixed in the blue cheese with the piping hot and creamy pasta. The blue cheese was very mild and didn’t overwhelm the dish. This was an excellent version and a candidate for the #1 spot.
I would give them 5 stars, but from previous visits, the fries are not good, the mashed potato has the skins left in and the baked potato is not fluffy. The butter is ice cold. On the other hand, their Shepherd’s Pie is excellent. Lunch portion is the same size as the dinner portion.

My recent visit to Local 438 was deeply concerning and fell far short of my expectations. While I had hoped for a pleasant evening, the atmosphere and management of the establishment created a truly negative experience.
The most significant issue was the staff’s apparent disregard for patron safety. I observed multiple instances of individuals being over-served alcohol, to the point of visible impairment. This not only puts those patrons at risk but also creates an uncomfortable and potentially dangerous environment for everyone else.
Furthermore, it was alarming to see the lack of intervention when certain patrons were behaving inappropriately and harassing others. When a restaurant fails to address such behavior, it sends a clear message that it is tolerated, which is unacceptable and compromises the safety and comfort of its guests. The overall feeling was that the staff treated patrons with a certain level of dismissiveness, rather than with the respect and attentiveness one would expect.
While I understand that restaurants can have off nights, the issues I witnessed seem to be a matter of policy and training rather than a one-time oversight. I sincerely hope that management takes these serious concerns into consideration and implements changes to ensure the well-being and respectful treatment of all future customers.

Picking up my take out order and can’t wait to try the pastrami! I came in 2 weeks ago and we had the best meatball sub and steak n cheese EVER!! They use great ingredients and make it all themselves!! Exceptional…5 Stars all day long!

I can’t say enough about this place! Came here before visiting the Stoneham Zoo and the food was amazing, will definitely come back to try more amazing egg rolls (not pictured bc they were gone so fast- Big Mac egg rolls)
