Good! Very odd combination of seafood and BBQ – never heard of Maine being famous for their BBQ, but quite a few places in this area were doing the same.

My guest had their lobster roll with onion strings and smoked mussels. She liked the onion strings, mussels and lobster roll but felt the lobster roll needed more mayo.

I got the French fries with pulled pork on top. Good with the bbq sauce but wish my fries were crisper. The pulled pork was pretty good.

I wish there had been something on the menu like a clam cake, clam strips, calamari, haddock sandwich, etc. something along the fried seafood side for those who aren’t huge fresh seafood lovers and wouldn’t prefer bbq.

Overall, a good place. Liked their outside dining, area for lawn games and dog-friendly.

I have spent a lot of time in Maine but I recently took a friend there for her first time. She had never been to a lobster pound before, as a matter of fact, she had never had a lobster in a shell. I wanted to find her a place that had good food but that would also appeal to a tourist. This place fit the bill.

All of the food was fresh and well prepared. Nothing fancy but she was really tickled with the whole experience. My lobster was extra large and still had sweet, tender, juicy meat. The prices could have been more in line with other lobster shacks, but what are you going do? It was worth it to me just to see her enjoy herself. This would also be a great place to take a family.

I had the Brisket Sandwich, which was very good. My wife had the Lobster Dinner. She said it was excellent (if there’s a 1-10 scale , give it a 12). The prices were very reasonable (much (much) lower than in/near Bar Harbor or on Mt. Desert Island), and no wait. The Lobster Dinner was under $30 (price will vary depending on market value). Get 2, and save $10.

The ‘dining area’ is pretty rustic (indoor (kind’a) and outdoor picnic tables). But if you’re okay with that part, it’s well worth the visit. Since the lobsta was so tasty & affordable, I didn’t discount my rating for the atmosphere.

I’ll start with the positives: the food overall is pretty good, I’d rate it a 4/5. However I felt that the size of the sides were far too small. The prices were fair but for my party of 3 we all felt that you had to spend upwards of $30 to be satisfied. If you choose to eat outside be warned that the mosquitoes will treat you as a buffet. While our waitress was very nice, she had too many tables to attend to, so I felt like the service wasn’t amazing.

Enjoyed their clam chowder a lot along with their location and the lobster roll was also good. But their potato salad was bland and undercooked. The potatoes were tough to chew and wasn’t able to enjoy them. Also wasn’t a fan on how the location was kept. I do understand that it’s a BBQ location which can give a place a rougher look around the edges, but overall cleanliness wasn’t what I’d expect with all that’s going on right now.

What a treat this was. The smell of BBQ pork as you roll in, then lobster boiling as you stroll on in. We had the pork butt fries and a lobster roll. Wow! The flavor of the pork was incredible. The lobster, well…it does not disappoint. Oh, and the best slice of very fresh blueberry pie we tasting our entire trip. And right off the road, and open very late in the season. A must stop.

Steamers were excellent and could have been a meal by themselves. Fresh hot clams and plenty of them. Melted butter and clam juice were provided for dipping. I mixed them for a dual flavor sauce!

The main course was a seafood platter with lightly battered and fried clams, deep sea scallops, shrimp and a haddock fillet. The fried clams (including bellies) were exceptional, even better than the steamer clams. The scallops were also extraordinary, tender and sweet with a very light crust. The shrimp were also very good. The haddock was acceptable, but the competition set the bar too high– it didn’t match the rest of the seafood.

We also had a pulled pork sandwich. It was tasty, but needed the extra zip of the BBQ sauce that we had to request. The fresh corn and red potatoes were excellent sides. The fries were standard fare. The food was accompanied by Eli’s Maine root beer. It too was delicious.

The only down check was our inexperienced server. He was friendly, cheerful, and helpful, but wasn’t at all attentive. We needed to ask for all the condiments, refills, and had to ask a couple of times to have all of the sides served.

Still, based on the quality of the food I will certainly eat here again. Next time, I hope they aren’t out of blueberry salsa!

An absolute staple of the area – a hole-in-the-wall feel with friendly staff and even better food. Can I please get seconds? It has a humble appearance if you drive by it, but I am so glad that I decided to turn around and grab some grub – welcoming smells and smiles from the get go. Pet friendly! Adorable outside seating that is a self-serve setup.

Totally exceeded expectations! We enjoyed pulled pork, smoked sausage and a knock out huge platter of ribs – all at a great price! The blueberry lemonade was also delicious! It was a completely fulfilling dinner on the first night of a week long vacation and we will definitely be back to try the lobster before we head home!

Lobster was excellent! The lobster roll was not as filled as I would expect for a 25 dollar roll. My daughter loved watching the outdoor chef! He was very nice and showed her the lobster when they came out of the water!
