This small joint definitely has a New England feel and is in a great location. The decor is great, staff too, but the food was eh (besides the Chowdah). Honestly, the Shrimp Po Boy, Lobsta Mac and hush puppies lacked Tri flavor. Regrettably, I’m going to give this house a hard pass.

So good! We were starving and stopped when we saw this place while looking for parking. So glad we did. My boyfriend got the special lol. 2 fish sandwiches for lunch for 20 bucks. I got the lobster Roll. There’s 3 different sizes of lobster rolls- New England was 6oz for 54 bucks, Bostonian was like 34 and patriot was like 24 ish. They are market prices so that can fluctuate. I got the new Englander (6oz lobster comes with fries, you can get it hot with butter for a dollar more or get it cold with mayo) for reference, and we spent 80 on lunch.

As a Bostonian myself, I approve. The lobster roll was on point, bigger than your average roll and over stuffed! Fries were a little salty but still good. Clam chowder was great too! They sell beer too! I highly recommend!

We were looking for something local to try. We came in Tuesday for lunch. There’s parking in the parking lot and on the street. We dined in. It’s a smaller establishment so not a lot of seating. We had the new englander and the Bostonian both warmed and with butter and fries. Added extra lobster. Plenty to eat for us both. Wasn’t sure what the difference was between the rolls, perhaps we should have tried the cold one. Overall we’d come back. ☺️

What a great find! We were trying to avoid the tourist area and find a good place, and we did! We went to the counter to look at the menu and a very happy young lady started telling us about the specials. She mentioned a cod fish sandwich, so we ordered 2 with fries and some fountain drinks. The price was very reasonable, so I was thinking that the sandwiches may be light on fish. She brought them out with a big smile and asked if there was anything that we needed. The sandwiches were piled high with delicious cod! We could tell that she took a lot of pride in the place, it was very clean and she took care to place a chair that was not square with the table. Some folks arrived after us and had been there last year, they had enjoyed it so much that they were still talking about what they had ordered back then. If you are looking for very good food at a reasonable price in a clean, casual atmosphere, this is the place to go!

During a recent weekend “staycation” I happened to visit “Lobstah On A Roll,” an idyllic small establishment situated just south of main King Street west of the Lightner Museum. Upon entering, one finds a clean but simple small dining area with counter service.

The workers were friendly and promptly took our order, and the food was quick to come out with no hassles. The clam chowder (“chowdah”) was quite good. I am from New England, and while to me it could have been a bit heartier, I appreciated the creamy richness and excellent seasoning. For our main lunch items, we had one of the larger portion sized lobster rolls and fish tacos. Unfortunately, I would rate both in the “okay” range.

The lobster roll was quite good, but to me, excessively expensive, especially considering that U.S. lobster in 2025 is not in high demand considering the tariffs. I did not see the lobster roll pricing on the menu board, but from our $100 bill (yes, for a lobster roll, fish tacos, fries, onion rings, and 2x fountain drinks), I fathom it must have been around $60. For comparison, in our local Tampa Bay area, numerous restaurants in fall 2025 are offering entire whole lobster dinners for $20 to 30.

The fish tacos were somewhat disappointing. The fish was cooked well (I ordered it grilled), and I appreciated the unique salsa topping. However, it seemed to lack flavor, and the tortillas were on the firm – sort of near end of stage – side. Likewise, the onion rings were not crispy and were similar to what one gets with an oven-baked freezer section grocery store onion ring.

These noted, I again appreciated the excellent staff, and do think the lobster roll was very good! I would rate 4 stars if the prices were better, though. That said, St. Augustine restaurant prices are all exaggerated, no doubt as it is at the end of the day a tourist place.

I’ll keep it simple. I’ve never had a lobster roll from Maine. I’ve never been to Maine, but this is the next best thing. This lobster roll was delicious. The lobster is brought in from Maine. The bread was perfectly lightly toasted on the outside and soft on the inside. The portion was not lacking. The fish sandwich was excellent as well. I’m not a huge fan of fried fish, but this was great. The only drawback is the price. I paid over $50 for these 2 sandwiches and a bottle of water…but it was a delicious meal. I will be back.

Drove all the way from Tampa to try this place. They said they were out of Lobster? Are you kidding me?! It was only 12:30 pm. Everyone seemed so unhappy. There was nothing else other than a sorry. Please offer some kind of special so customers stay instead of leaving. Anyways! Never going back.

It was not my favorite lobster roll 4 Oz for $29. If I had done it again I would have gone to the French Pastry.

I really wanted to love this place! Especially because the family was craving lobster!
I was disappointed in the food and price!
Honestly, for the price it really could have tasted better!

Just sad especially because we got good customer service!

We saw the lobster coming out of a frozen bag. I really thought it would be fresh given the price they ask for.

My daughter also asked for a clam chowder soup and barely any veggies or clam in it. They said it would be in a bread bowl but it was just a styrofoam container.

The refreshment was also really low carbonated and flavorless.

Really expected for better tasting food given the price.

Do not recommend. Unfortunately, won’t be coming back!
