The food was really good and seemed fresh. Decently priced for what they give. The woman serving was extremely friendly and matronly. The onion rings were the best I’ve had in awhile.
While I don’t recommend dining in, I think to-go or sitting outside would be best.
I hope this was just an off day!
The clam chowder had great flavor, but it could have been a bit warmer. That said, the overall experience was fantastic. The service was friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home in the cutest quaint space.
If you’re craving a top-tier lobster roll with excellent service, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back!
We waited 20 minutes for our order to come. We were quite disappointed, it was so much different from the advertisement outside. This is daylight robbery (check attached images). It’s lacking so much.
We waited so much time for our lobster so we asked how much more time will it take. She said we never ordered lobster roll…. Okay we asked for the bill, she demanded us to pay at least 15% on tips… We didn’t want to, the service was bad. At the end we payed 0.53 cents as the tip since she didn’t have the change. Okay so overall wouldn’t recommend.
We ordered a new Englander, clam chowdah, and the fish box.
The lobster roll was okay overall. The roll was nice and soft and had a slight sweetness that went well with the lobster. The lobster itself felt very firm and chewy. We got the $2 extra butter but felt like it didn’t add too much so it wasn’t necessary. The clam chowdah was thin and didn’t feel substantial in terms of fillings. Overall a bit bland as well.
The fish in the fish box was juicy, flaky and had a crunchy exterior, which was nice but also felt under salted. I’m not sure if we were supposed to grab our own tartar sauce or if it was forgotten, but it probably would have been much better if I had a tarter sauce with it.
The service was very good. They brought our food out in a timely manner and made sure our meal was to our perfection. They walked us through the menu and even helped us through with a discount we had gotten.
The atmosphere is nice. The outdoor dining has some umbrella overhangs to protect against the sun, though it does have a bit of a cramped space on the outdoor dining in the street.
The food is exceptional. I got the clam strips with fries, which were fried lightly and had a good seasoning on the fries. We also tried the lobster roll, which was ok for the price, but tasted really good. The clam chowder and lobster bisque was good as well. The clam chowder was a little thick but still smooth enough to taste great with crackers.
Overall a wonderful place for a quick bite on newbury street.
Fries were perfectly cooked – like fresh McDonald’s Fries.
It’s not cheap but the food was good and recommended.
