It was our first time in Boston and my first time having lobster rolls and clam chowder and it was delicious ! My absolute favorite was the clam chowder hands down !!! I couldn’t get enough of it and now I’m planning a trip to the St. Augustine location since I live in Florida, specifically for the clam chowder !! Although there was a foul odor of dirty water that day and minorly broken seat booths, the decor was really cute and the SERVICE WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL ! I’d like to give a HUGEEE shoutout to Jessica ! She was so attentive, and nice and HILARIOUS and quirky and unique and amazing. She absolutely charmed us with her personality and gave us great recommendations for Boston ! I will definitely be back to Lobstah on a Roll for their warm buttery lobster rolls and amazing clam chowder next time I’m in Boston !

When you walk in, it doesn’t smell the best. When I walked in, it was a mixture of sewage and generally uncleanliness. Despite that, they had the door open to let in fresh air, and the smell became less apparent.
The food was really good and seemed fresh. Decently priced for what they give. The woman serving was extremely friendly and matronly. The onion rings were the best I’ve had in awhile.
While I don’t recommend dining in, I think to-go or sitting outside would be best.

The place smells old the minute you walk in. The clam chowder was so thick you could almost cut it! The lobster bisque was just kind of flat. The Cole slaw had no flavor. Had to add some salt and pepper. The lobster roll was disappointing. The most disappointing was the presentation. Food came out on styrofoam and plastic.

I hope this was just an off day!

Great experience here! Lobstah on a Roll is a must-try for seafood lovers. The lobster roll was outstanding – fresh, sweet lobster meat with the perfect touch of seasoning. Easily one of the best I’ve ever had!

Lobstah on a Roll is a must-visit for seafood lovers! Their lobster roll was absolutely incredible—packed with fresh, sweet lobster meat, just the right amount of seasoning and a buttery soft bun. Easily one of the best I’ve had in Boston!

The clam chowder had great flavor, but it could have been a bit warmer. That said, the overall experience was fantastic. The service was friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home in the cutest quaint space.

If you’re craving a top-tier lobster roll with excellent service, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back!

We waited quite a bit of time for the waiter to come (~6 minutes). We said and repeated three time our order: lobster roll, watermelon shaved ice large size and a cup size mango shaved ice. She made us repeat our order multiple times, and she still got it wrong.
We waited 20 minutes for our order to come. We were quite disappointed, it was so much different from the advertisement outside. This is daylight robbery (check attached images). It’s lacking so much.
We waited so much time for our lobster so we asked how much more time will it take. She said we never ordered lobster roll…. Okay we asked for the bill, she demanded us to pay at least 15% on tips… We didn’t want to, the service was bad. At the end we payed 0.53 cents as the tip since she didn’t have the change. Okay so overall wouldn’t recommend.

Good little hole in the wall place. Conveniently located between all the shops. The prices were higher than what was listed on the menu which is kinda annoying but understandable. I got the lobster grilled cheese and it was really good. Overall good little neighborhood spot. Service was pretty quick- I think we were in and out within 20 mins.

We ordered takeout so this review is based solely on the food we received and not service. We ate it 10min away so the food was still warm and fresh.
We ordered a new Englander, clam chowdah, and the fish box.
The lobster roll was okay overall. The roll was nice and soft and had a slight sweetness that went well with the lobster. The lobster itself felt very firm and chewy. We got the $2 extra butter but felt like it didn’t add too much so it wasn’t necessary. The clam chowdah was thin and didn’t feel substantial in terms of fillings. Overall a bit bland as well.
The fish in the fish box was juicy, flaky and had a crunchy exterior, which was nice but also felt under salted. I’m not sure if we were supposed to grab our own tartar sauce or if it was forgotten, but it probably would have been much better if I had a tarter sauce with it.

Lobstah on a roll is located in the heart of Newbury Street, with outdoor and indoor dining options.

The service was very good. They brought our food out in a timely manner and made sure our meal was to our perfection. They walked us through the menu and even helped us through with a discount we had gotten.

The atmosphere is nice. The outdoor dining has some umbrella overhangs to protect against the sun, though it does have a bit of a cramped space on the outdoor dining in the street.

The food is exceptional. I got the clam strips with fries, which were fried lightly and had a good seasoning on the fries. We also tried the lobster roll, which was ok for the price, but tasted really good. The clam chowder and lobster bisque was good as well. The clam chowder was a little thick but still smooth enough to taste great with crackers.

Overall a wonderful place for a quick bite on newbury street.

My hot lobster roll with butter was delicious.. she had the lobster tacos on lettuce instead of tortillas and that was equally great.

Fries were perfectly cooked – like fresh McDonald’s Fries.

It’s not cheap but the food was good and recommended.
