Well, this was our first time here. Everyone has told us how great this Restaurant is. Our rating would have been a 1 except for the intervention of our waiter with the manager. Our waiter was awesome but Lobo’s has a reservation policy and the individuals who had reserved our table at 5:30 showed up at 4:30 and they kicked us out of our spot. Even though there were plenty of open tables at the time and we would’ve been ready to go within the next 30 minutes. The good news is the manager intervened reduced our bill and described what exactly happened and apologised.. We have never been treated like that. It was definitely a miscommunication between the front and the wait staff but the staff was not prepared. Our takeaway recommendation was if a table has been previously reserved. They tell you up front and allow you to be there up until 15 minutes before the next reservation. That should be made clear to all involved. Our food was okay I really did enjoy the cup of seafood chowder with many shrimp the size of your little finger very yummy. We would come here again for drinks. They also had live music which was just starting up which was nice. This is a fun place to come. We will probably come back and try breakfast.

We love going to Lobo Del Mar on Wednesday night. It’s a destination place for friends , food and fun. You listen to a great house band plus additional family members. Family members welcome you with open arms and great smiles. We are drawn to Lobo because of the atmosphere . We love the addition to the dock and we can bring our little fur baby when we dine bayside. When we sat at Table 10. The bagpipers walk by on their was to the dock. The entertainment during band breaks are very well choreographed.

Had a wonderful experience at Lobo Café Del Mar in South Padre Island! The service was absolutely exceptional, especially from our waiter, Jesus, who was attentive and friendly from start to finish. The food was very freshly made — the fruit was crisp and flavorful, and the omelette was cooked perfectly with fresh eggs and plenty of hearty filling. The mimosas were richly poured, which is always a plus in my book.
If you get the chance, definitely sit outside on the patio because the views are magnificent and really add to the atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable — you get good quality food without breaking the bank. Overall, it’s a spot worth visiting, and I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I’m in town.

Such a fun place to watch the sun set! Our server, Luz, was amazing even though they were very busy. Great food. Dog friendly. Bagpipes at sunset are a real treat.

Easily the weirdest experience we had dining in SPI. Let’s start out with the parking and cleanliness, both good, lots of options to park and clean. We came into Lobo Del Mar and were seated pretty quickly, tucked into a corner with a perfect view of the sunset. They’re dog friendly on their patio which was a plus as well. We came in before the sun had set and we kid you not the sun set before we had our water or drink orders taken. We waited maybe 15 minutes before going up to a waitress to ask when we’d be served and she took our drink orders five minutes later but didn’t take our food order as it was our designated waiter’s area. Luckily staring at a sunset is a great way to pass the time, otherwise we probably would’ve left at that point.
When we finally got to order we got: the fried chicken sandwich with cheese and french fries, a pulled pork sandwich with onion rings, a mai tai, and a blue hawaiian. The chicken sandwich was decent, the cheese definitely made it better than without it (they also forgot to put the cheese on it when it came out). It had a good texture and was pretty filling. The fries were good, nothing too crazy. The pulled pork sandwich was good, definitely better than a lot of others we’ve had. The meat was moist and the flavors played well off one another.
As for drinks, the mai tai was delicious, one of the better drinks we had during our time here. The blue hawaiian was much the same, pretty good but maybe a bit too much shaved coconut around the rim of the glass, it kept getting in the drink. It’s a shame the service was not very good here because we had a great sunset view and the food/drinks were honestly good too. We just can’t look past waiting 15-20 minutes to get drink orders taken and almost 30 minutes to put our food in. Waters also came during our meal for context. We’re more than happy to try this spot out again in the future, but for now we feel like this is a fair rating.

We visited SPI this month and Lobo ended up being the whole family’s favorite place we ate during our stay! We wanted to eat somewhere on the water and planned dinner around sunset. We originally went to Viva based on reviews but they had an hour wait (on a Thursday evening) so we rerouted to Lobo, which had been our second choice. I’m so glad we ended up there! The atmosphere was laid back and relaxed, the view was gorgeous, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was great! I got the street tacos, which was an excellent choice – everyone ended up sharing them – but the fish and chips were great too. My daughter got nachos, which she enjoyed, but thought my tacos were even better. We sat outside, which could be risky in the August Texas heat, but there was a great breeze. At some point a live band started playing and then we got treated to a bagpipe performance. So unexpected and awesome! We will definitely be back on our next trip.

We had a great time and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. While there we had two lads play some music on a set of bagpipes and a drum. What fun!

Great! Food was good, there was live entertainment… (a local band) food was fresh, salad was good.. kids food was also a good portion ( as you can see in picture) . Our waitress was friendly and attentive she suggested some foods for my son that he would be able to eat. The view was great especially since we went during sunset.. overall it was great!

Beautiful location with an amazing view of the ocean, very lively atmosphere and great selections of food.
The restaurant is outdoor seating so if you’re not used to the Texas heat then choose a well ventilated spot! They have fans throughout to accommodate as well.
Food was very tasty and juicy, I got the pulled pork sandwich, and coconut shrimp for my partner. Both were delicious.
