PREVIOUS REVIEW: I have yet to eat here but attend happy hours and late night drinks
The service is always remarkable, the drinks are always made just right. Inenjoybthe live music on weekends very much as well.
I have yet to go, but I also hear great things about Sunday brunch.
We had a big group spread across 3 different tables and 9 separate checks—and Nate didn’t miss a single beat. He was organized, attentive, and kept everything running smoothly with a smile the entire time. It’s rare to find someone who can juggle that much and still make every person feel taken care of. Huge kudos to Nate for making our experience seamless and fun!
Despite the ambience, I figured I could get my food quickly with a dining room lacking in patrons so the wife and I ordered. She got waffles with strawberries and I got a turkey sausage, egg white omelette. 30 min later I was instead met with a regular sausage, non-egg white meal. I ended up just eating it because I didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes for the correction. The cheese grits side and apple wood smoked bacon side were good enough I thought I would give it another chance.
Despite the first bad experience, my wife and I thought we would go back and give it another try with our 7 year old son who loves to try new restaurants. It was Saturday at 1pm and the wait was just as long and the story was the same and the Friday outing, that they only have two servers on staff. We waited 15 minutes for the table, not for lack of open tables though. Once seated, another 10 minutes just to get a glass of water, and a drink order taken for a glass of milk for our son. 30 minutes after ordering, our food arrived. The food was tasty as expected, albeit probably kept on the heater a few min too long.
Overall, I wasn’t that impressed and doubt I’ll go back again but at least our server went out of the way to go next door to the Starbucks/gelato place and a glass of milk and chocolate syrup (David’s kitchen doesn’t stock milk, chocolate chips or chocolate syrup apparently) to put on the pancakes for our son who is forgiving and forgot he had to wait 30 min to get them.
