We had a really lovely evening at Loa in Malta. The service and ambience were excellent — staff were attentive, friendly, and the whole place has a great atmosphere that makes it perfect for a relaxed dinner.

Most of the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. All the other dishes we ordered were excellent and really well cooked.

There was just one small issue: we ordered a steak medium to well, but it arrived not properly cooked on one side. However, to their credit, the staff handled it very professionally and fixed it quickly, which we really appreciated.

Overall, a great experience with fantastic food, great service, and a lovely setting. We’d definitely go back.

Had a group dinner here last night and I’d say the vibes and views are better than the cuisine, but definitely worth eating at. We ordered Sushi, fried chicken, fried oysters which were all good. The fillet was mediocre and required salt and sauce, which really shouldn’t be the case. The short rib fried rice was fine. I wasn’t a fan of the Caesar salad or the tuna ceviche, although 2 of my friends were. The wine by the glass menu had excellent choices and there are plenty of cocktails to try as well. The views and decor are excellent and the service is good as well. This is more of a “fun night out” than a “I was blown away by the food” restaurant. But I enjoy both at different times and as long as you’re looking for a decent meal with a beautiful view and feel than I think you’ll really enjoy it.

LOA in Saint Paul’s Bay, Malta, is a culinary gem that exceeded my expectations. This Michelin-starred restaurant, awarded since 2023, offers a unique fusion of Latin American and Asian flavors, creating a truly unforgettable dining experience.

*Ambiance and Service*

The moment you step into LOA, you’re greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere. The interior design is stunning, with beautifully crafted decor that reflects the restaurant’s South American inspiration. The service is top-notch, with friendly and knowledgeable staff, like our exceptional waitress, Madu, who provided expert recommendations and ensured our needs were met.

*Food*

The menu boasts an impressive selection of dishes, each showcasing the rich diversity of South American cuisine with an Asian twist. Standout dishes include ¹ ²:
– *Seared Beef Crudo*: Incredibly flavorful and expertly prepared
– *Tuna Ceviche*: Fresh and exquisite, a perfect blend of flavors
– *Smoked Pork Cheek Tacos*: Tender pieces of smoked pork cheek, pickled onions, and aji verde sauce, all wrapped in a corn tortilla
– *Frito Ensalada de Platano*: Fried plantain, Aleppo chilli syrup, herbs, avocado, and labneh, a delightful combination of flavors
– *Papas Fritas*: Crispy fries topped with shallots, coriander, and amchur powder

*Unique Experience*

What sets LOA apart is the immersive experience it offers. During dinner, guests can enjoy live shows featuring dancers and fire dancing, accompanied by vibrant music. This adds a dynamic element to the evening, making it a memorable night out.

*Value and Convenience*

LOA offers fair prices, with meals ranging from €25-€50+ per person. They also provide free parking and a shuttle service, making it convenient for visitors.

Overall, LOA is a must-visit restaurant in Malta, offering an exceptional blend of flavors, atmosphere, and service. Whether you’re a food enthusiast or just looking for a unique dining experience, LOA is sure to impress ³.

We enjoyed LOA overall a really great meal, restaurant itself had a great vibe, good music and ambience! It wasn’t busy but I’m sure it’s great when it is!!
We order padron peppers & pork skewers for starters- both were amazing, definitely a must order!!
For mains we shared the Ribeye & grilled prawns. They both looked amazing but presentation was better than quality unfortunately. The steak was a bit underwhelming and quite flavourless, with heavy amounts of fat, the chimichurri (which cost €4.50!!) was just oil and rosemary and really let down the steak overall as it didn’t taste good, no garlic or chilli flavour at all!!
Prawns were great, cooked perfectly and flavours were delicious!
They handled my egg allergy professionally and were confident my meal would be safe which was reassuring!
Staff were friendly and polite but service was slow overall to clear plates etc!

Today my husband and I visited for the first time Loa restaurant. We were amazed by the ambiance everything is beautifully arranged and perfectly in place. The view is divine, and a special thanks goes to the manager, Vanja, who is a true master of their craft, very hospitable, and made us feel absolutely fantastic. !!! A new friendship was born. We will definitely be coming back! ✨

Very lovely fresh fish.
Favourite was beef carpaccio – good portion and accompanied with some fried nibbles.
Ceviche dish experience was nice- but could have been combined with bread or side nibbles to accompany the flavours and sauce.
Cocktails were nice.

Great food and atmosphere but service was lacking for this price level. We got our fish and meat without the risotto, then after we finished we got the risotto which was pulled away from our table and then later was send back again. For a 240 euro dinner not acceptable (2 persons) as compensation 1 cocktail was deducted from the price… but the food was very good.

The best place I visited when in Malta. Food and service was 10/10 and a huge shout out to staff especially Margie who was lovely and kind and made the experience so much better. The sea-bass was the best thing so definitely recommend! Also everything is halal!

I visited this restaurant last night, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The waiters were friendly and polite, but the service itself was extremely slow. We waited over 25 minutes just to have our plates cleared, which made the evening feel dragged out.

Drinks and starters were nice, but the portions were very small for the price. For our mains, both my partner and I ordered the ribeye steak, but the quality was very poor. Half of my steak was inedible due to excessive fat, and the portion itself was small—more like mismatched pieces of meat on a plate rather than a proper cut. The chips that came with the meal were overcooked, clearly having been left sitting around too long.

I did raise these issues with the waiter, who was understanding and offered us a free dessert, cocktails, or to have our steaks remade. However, by that point (25 minutes after we’d already eaten), we just wanted to leave. They did remove one steak and the chips from the bill, which I appreciated, but overall the meal was very underwhelming.

Sadly, I wouldn’t return and definitely wouldn’t recommend this restaurant—there are much better places to go.
