The burger is amazing!! It was my first time visiting this place and I loved it! One of my favorite burgers in Chattanooga. The mac and cheese was delicious too! The staff is super friendly, great vibes all around!

I’ve always yearned for a neighborhood pub and I’m proud to say we have one here in Chatt. Lo Main has incredible food and drinks and it’s a cozy spot for locals. I’ve had some incredibly rich conversations with friends here and you never have to twist someone’s arm to meet up there. All the food I’ve had has been incredible. I took my brother and his wife there once and the bartender gave their son a moon pie, which was such a thoughtful gesture and showcased the hospitality of the place. I wish every neighborhood had a spot like Lo Main!

I can see why people might rave about the Murder Burger if they get a good version of it. Unfortunately we ordered three of them and all of them were burned. Not smashed with a bit of char for flavor and character – straight up burned and dry. I love smash burgers and love them done right. Even done fine they’re good. Anybody can have an off day, but unfortunately this was and will remain our only experience as we’re just down for a day from Knoxville. $34.50 plus tax for 3 small burgers and 3 cans of Diet Coke is steep.

So I saw a gentleman on tikytok say this was the best burger (murder burger) he’s ever had so I felt compelled to try said burger, after reading a bad review of another guy staying in an Airbnb saying it was flavorless I was confused, so off to Lo Mains we go. To the guy in the Airbnb, you must have just been having a moment or something? I’ve had what I considered to be amazing burgers in my lifetime and the Murder Burger at Lo Mains is by far the best I’ve had. Hands down a must try burger!!

Stopped in for a quick bite since it was close to the Airbnb and seemed people raved about this place. “The burger , the burger, the burger”

So I decide to take their word and of course get the burger. Sounds tasty and full of flavor. Sounds…… I didn’t get any of the onion, garam masala aioli , or pepper crema. The burger was hot and cheese was melted but that’s almost the end of it. Burger was extremely bland and lacking in any of the flavors described on the menu.

Not being local maybe this is the best in Chattanooga but in general it absolutely missed the mark on flavor and wouldn’t be ranked on the scale at all with out major seasoning and adjustments.

Also Got the arroz con elotes which is not elotes at all. It’s Indian rice with corn. And oddly enough it’s where all the salt went. Not a drop in the burger but so much on the elotes you couldn’t take more than 1 bite.

Far cry saying this place serves good food

Fantastic, very unique, burger joint/bar on Main Street! Quite possibly the best burgers in town. The “murder burger” is aptly named as it is a smash burger to die for! The burger itself was great with a uniquely toasted bun and a little extra spicy/sweet flavoring that you just have to try. Just $9 and service was fast. This place is an experience unto itself, and I would definitely recommend going at night for the full effect! Basically a dive bar inside a house that happens to serve incredible hamburgers. They serve hotdog dogs too. Also some seating outside in the front. I will be back!!

I was only here for less than 10 minutes. I’m a therapist and several of my clients have mentioned the murder burger over the past couple of weeks. I had a kid-free moment and decided to hunt down “the best burger in Chattanooga”.

I got it to go. It should be noted that there are signs in the restaurant that say “no French fries” and “no ketchup”. The burger does need either of these! It is the most delicious amalgamation of flavors and textures! Like stupidly good for what it is.

The establishment is humble and dingy and decorated with antiquey stuff. There’s no doubt that it’s a bar, but it’s cozy and comfortable.

The bartender was kind and authentic (and expertly paused to attend to a “cheese emergency”, the result of so many murder burgers being sold yesterday.)

My burger came in a brown paper bag. It was wrapped in foil and the bun was squished, cheese glued the paper to the burger. It was fantastic! The bun was soft, buttery and charred on the top and edges. The Indian spiced mayonnaise and pepper whatever spread were the most perfect compliments to the lacey edged smashed patties, creamy American cheese, and perfectly crisp lettuce and onions.

Nothing about Lo Main or it’s incredible murder burger is performative. It is what it is. And it is fantastic!

Friendly Appalachian transplant here with another review! So to be fair I have been visiting Lo Main for over a year. So let’s set expectations…it is a neighborhood bar. It is full of colorful locals at all hours!
Parking isn’t bad…got some around back and on the side street.
Food..I know everyone is murder burger crazy..but in my humble opinion they have so many great sandwiches that are way better..my favorite is the chop cheese(Sunday only).
But I cant stress a few points enough…this is a bar. Its low key and not what I would consider a after church dining spot. As such alcohol is the name of the game with food there to accompany it. So no traditional sides…such as French fries or onion rings. They are not on the menu so quit asking for them! Lol
If you are in the need for a friendly bartender, a stiff drink, a cheesy movie playing on the background, and tasty sandwich then look no further!

The burger itself was cooked very well and had a nice toasted bun but we were not aware that the sauce that comes on it is sweet and not savory. There was no smoky flavor to it and it was more of a sweet burger which we didn’t like. You order at the bar and the people from the kitchen bring out you food on paper platters. Also there is no ketchup or mustard and no sides! No fries or anything which was really strange. You just get a burger. The only person out “on the floor” is the bartender who just takes your order. We were told they had the best burger in town but we were not pleased. Definitely a sweet burger which is not something you look for in a burger.
